Now that trump is ancient history I have been able to take my eyes away from the White House without fear of it resulting in atomic annihilation. Words cannot express how good that feels. The adults are back in charge.

Mostly.

I haven’t watched the Impeachment proceedings, but every so often I check on the news (or, worse, twitter) and I read something about how insane the Republican party has become. Moscow Mitch says they should vote their conscience. What if they have no conscience?

Is the impeachment constitutional? Yes. Obviously. He was still president when he was impeached. Is inciting a deadly attack on the US Capitol impeachable? Duh. There you go. Constitutional scholar, QED.

I am more interested in Georgia opening an investigation into his election tampering. The punishment for that should have some teeth. We’ll see.

Until then, just keep repeating to yourself that the grownups are back in charge.

The current count, according to the Johns Hopkins dashboard, is 233,734 Americans citizens dead.

There is still no logical justification for those two numbers happening at the same time.

72 Hours?

Trumps doctor said he’s been taking treatment for 72 hours. Meaning they knew he was Covid positive on Wednesday?

Patches wants to know if anyone dies after being exposed to his virus on Wednesday or Thursday, can he be charged with murder or manslaughter or something? Patches really wants to know.

Sad Note

I wasn’t going to let myself get caught up in September 11th this year. I was just going to focus on the present and let it go. Then I totally failed at that and went through all of my previous posts on September 11ths over the years.

Two years ago I wrote a big long entry on everything I did that day. I closed it with a little postscript:

My parents had Kennedy. Their parents had Pearl Harbor. My only hope now is that my step kids never get an event of their own.

Well, so much for that. The kids have a thing of their own now. Oh, and our Federal government knew it was going to be horrible and decided to ignore it. 192,000 corpses, all laying at the cheeto dictator’s feet.
