DC Finales

I just wrapped up my watching of two DC Comics series. After nine years I am finally done with The Flash. We started watching this as a family when it initially aired. Both kids dropped off after a few seasons but I stuck with it. It wasn’t good over the last couple of seasons. I can’t deny that fact. It was still 10000000 times better than Fear the Walking Dead (new episode tonight) and I’m still watching that fuck of a dumpster fire so there you go. I’m sad that The Flash is over. Even though no one was watching with me anymore, I still see it as something I watched with the kids and I miss that.

I also just watched the final episode of Titans. That show wasn’t terribly good at the end either, but again it wasn’t that bad. I got onto the bandwagon pretty late but it was a decent show. I’m not sad it’s over, but I am glad that I watched the whole thing, even if it was mostly just for completeness sake.

The only other DC show I’m still sort of into is Pennyworth, and I haven’t watched an episode of that in months. I’m in the middle of season two and it’s losing me, but I will still pick away at it. Now DC needs to bring back The Peacemaker because that show was freakin’ hilarious. I could handle another season of that one.

Next DC thing for me will probably be The Flash movie. Ezra Miller appears to be a piece of garbage as a human and I will never forgive them for the horrible things they did to Stephen King’s The Stand. You need to publicly apologize for that one, you asshole. What the hell were you thinking? The movie is supposed to be good though, and two words: Michael Fucking Keaton.

So there you have it. My DC TV/Movies update. You’re welcome.

Various Updates

We just got off the call with Dad’s rehab facility. Good news all around. There are a couple of things they will follow up on and get back to us. He’s not ready to go home yet, but he is at a point where they can bring his assisted living facility staff into the discussion to see if they can handle his needs.

My stomach still feels like sh-sh-sh-shite. I haven’t eaten anything today and it’s not the kind of thing where I am wondering if I am sick or just hungry. Nope, I’m just sick. Harry had a stomach bug on Sunday. I’m wondering if that’s what I have now. Not so much a couple of meals gone wrong, but just a bug.

I left work at 2:00pm. I wanted to try to stick it out for the day but my boss let me off the hook. I probably should have left earlier. I was no good to anyone. I’m already questioning whether I will be able to pull off work tomorrow. It’s starting to look like a good thing we cancelled the New York plans. I need to be over this before Sunday when we go to Bellana’s concert in Vermont.

I would say I am starting to get into the first season of Pennyworth. I am still not sure though. The whole Aleister Crowley storyline… Crowley died in 1947 so if this takes place in some weird version of 60’s London, then he would have been in his 90’s. There’s a new episode of Titans today that I haven’t watched yet. That’s the better show, I think, but I’m having trouble getting into the new season. Oh, DC on HBO… how you vex me.

What to Watch

We are done with Ted Lasso, I think. I’m caught up on Archer and Titans and What We Do in the Shadows and The Walking Dead, though all of their seasons are still going. I’m a couple of weeks behind on Supergirl which has improved a little after their mid-season break (so far at least).

Star Wars Visions is out, and Foundation has just started. I want to see both of those. We had started Invincible before Bellana left and I want to finish that. We haven’t finished the last season of Mrs Maisel (sp?). Maybe I can finish that for completeness sake. I haven’t seen Doom Patrol though I’ve heard that’s pretty good.

Is there anything else? I’m just wondering because a little part of me wants to restart The Walking Dead from episode one and re-binge the shit out of all of it again before it ends. That might be happening…. And it might be happening tonight. Well… starting tonight. It’s been so long since Shane has asked me if he can ask me something, or tell me something, and Carl hasn’t been told to stay in the house for ages, and there’s all the things and stuff Rick has been doing.

Yeah, that might be happening.

ADDENDUM: We are not done with Ted Lasso. We thought season two was going to be 10 episodes long. It’s actually 12. We have two more weeks to go. Happiness.
