Why Does December Suck?

If there’s one sure fire way to ruin your Saturday plans in December it’s to have some snow drop on you.

Three guesses as to what it’s doing outside at this very moment… Go on, guess. I’ll wait.

You’re right, it’s snowing.

Sonofa……..

Bruins – Deja Vu All Over Again?

The Bruins have nine games left.  They are the third seed in the Atlantic division with 82 points.  Toronto is in fourth with 81 points and they are sitting in the second Eastern wild card spot with 11 games left.

Or, that was the case before play started tonight.  Toronto just beat Columbus.

So now the Bruins are out of the Atlantic playoff spots and are sitting in the second wild card spot.  The Islanders are four points back with 11 games left.

Why do I feel like I’ve seen this movie before?

Each of the last two years the Bruins have collapsed in the last days of the regular season and dropped out of the playoffs at the last second.  Am I wrong in fearing that we’re being set up for the same fall this year?  They’ve already lost three in a row.  Is the collapse under way?  I don’t want to believe it, but damn it the evidence is clearly stacking up.  Three final stretch chokes in a row?

It can’t happen again…

Can it?

The Good and the Bad of Today

Today has been an emotional roller coaster.

First, the Supreme Court of the United States of America finally moved us one step closer to fulfilling the promise of the Declaration of Independence by bitch slapping bigotry and ruling that homosexuals have the right to be legally married. As if common sense and decency weren’t enough to show a civilized human that such rights are obvious and should never have needed a court ruling to point out to the country.

I have to say, I was pretty proud of my country when I heard the news.

Later, in infinitely less important news, the Boston Bruins dumped Dougie Hamilton for draft picks, followed shortly after by dumping Milan Lucic for more draft picks, and then they signed a bottom pair defenseman to a four year 2.75 million dollar per year contract. They ended up with pics 13-15 in the first round. The pain and suffering was mitigated by the hope that they would package some of these picks and either trade up for an impact prospect, or trade them for a current NHL player. They did neither. They used all three picks on people that the NHL pundits thought were not worthy of mid-first round selections.

Don Sweeney… the honeymoon is over. So very, very over. I don’t want to come right out and say that you suck as a general manager…

But it sure looks like you suck as a general manager.

Dark days are ahead for Bruins fans.

At least the United States did the right thing.

Soundcloud Can Bite Me

So Soundcloud, is that an ad I see in my stream today? Sure, it looks like a “promoted” song, but it’s an artist I don’t follow and have less than zero interest in yet somehow there it is on the top of my stream. If it looks like a commercial, sounds like a commercial, and reeks like a commercial, then it’s a commercial.

First you gave outside companies the ability to remove songs from our accounts without notice. Now you put commercials into our streams.

This is what I use Soundcloud for… When I’m recording something I upload it so I can listen to it in the car to see if the mix sucks. When things are finished they go to alonetone where they belong. Soundcloud’s service has never been that good. I only used it because it’s free and it lets me not muck up alonetone or iTunes Match. Now even the free account costs too much.

Bite me, Soundcloud.

They Are Dead to Me

Had they come out and played well last night (and Monday night) and lost I would feel better. No. The Bruins played like cow shit for the first half of last night’s game and never had a chance. The score was never out of hand, but they were never close.

It was not a choke on par with the 2010 3-0 lead. It was not a choke on par with losing game six of the Cup finals last year. It was, however, a monumental suck of a choke.

The hell with them. They’re dead to me.

It’s baseball season.

Go Red Sox.

What the Hell was That?

The Bruins had a 3-2 lead in their 2nd round series against Montreal. How did they respond to their chance to eliminate their arch rival in game six?

They sucked.

They sucked so bad that I can’t see them winning game seven tomorrow. If that’s how you play in an elimination game, you almost don’t deserve to advance. Just put us out of our misery now.

Even the deer that’s grazing on bushes behind the house right now says the Bruins sucked last night.

Montreal scored the game winning goal less than three minutes into the first period. Pathetic.
