New Look Bedroom

The bed is in the same place. Pretty much everything else is different.

The cushions on the new chairs will need a couple of days to finish expanding, but they’ve come a long way in about two hours since I sliced open the vacuum sealed package they shipped in.

One cat shows tentative approval. The other is hiding in terror, though she was all over the new chairs as I was putting them together. The rug was just too much for her tender little soul though.

The mirror is kinda my crowning achievement. The two paintings behind the bed were a nightmare to hang and will forever feel like the bane of my existence.

IKEA Themed Weekend

IKEA threw up all over our house. Now I have a ton of pre-fab furniture to deal with.

This is me getting a jump on things tonight by assembling the first of (I think) five items.

IKEA and I are going to spend some quality time together tomorrow.

Tough Weekend

Going back to Friday, my mother went back into the hospital again, though she was discharged quickly. I put new blinds and curtains onto the dining room window. Saturday included a trip to IKEA at the crack of dawn and a whole entire day of assembling and hanging a big ass cabinet/counter thing in the kitchen. Sunday saw us putting another, smaller, piece of IKEA furniture together along with a little time at my parents place. My mother was having a tough time and I was able to help a little. At least I hope I was helpful.

I’m a big, fat, severely out of shape, hurtin’ red head today.

This week is going to be nuts too. We have some organizing in the kitchen to do before the contractor comes back for the next step in the project. By the weekend the kitchen should be wrapped up, but then I have to start looking to the cellar. We’re not entirely redoing the cellar, but we were talking about it while the contractor was here last week and he asked if he could give it a shot. Fine by me! He’s going to try and fix the floor first. That would be huge.

Also, work. Also, my second dietician appointment. I haven’t been the best at what I’m trying to do over the last two weeks. I need to straighten my dietary shit out.

Right. Off to work now. Have a good one, folks.

My Step Son is More Awesome Than Yours

With all of the pre-fab furniture assembly on this weekend’s agenda, Jen figured it would be a good idea to offer Harry some money in exchange for getting a jump on things tonight. He was up for it and as I type this he is in the dining room putting together a humongous pantry that’s bigger than he is. It might be bigger than me.

Sure there’s a little bit of a bribe involved, but that doesn’t change the fact that my step son is awesome for doing this. He pretty much rules. My step son is absolutely more awesome than yours. It’s a certifiable fact.
