Traffic is Funny

Here’s an example of why traffic in greater Boston is funny. I don’t mean funny as in hahaha, I mean funny as in I am so mad I want to claw my eyes out.

I drove about 70 miles to get to work today. It was pouring rain the whole way. It was also seriously foggy out. The fog plus the rain plus the spray coming off of everyone’s tires meant that visibility was only slightly better than zero. For almost the entire drive I was up around 70-75 miles per hour. I made excellent time.

Yesterday it was gloomy out but other than a little drizzle at the tail end of the drive it was dry. No precipitation, no fog to speak of, no road spray. It had rained the day before though. How did I do for time? There were pockets of gridlock everywhere. The drive took 30 minutes longer than it took today.

Rain today = no traffic jams.
No rain today but rain yesterday = huge traffic jams.

See what I mean about “funny”?

Anyway, here’s a picture of a guitar to try to guilt myself into playing before work tomorrow, when I will thankfully be working from home again.

Bedding Success!

Check it out, after over a week one of the cats finally used the new cat bed! Success!

I think Lily knows this is a big deal. Usually first thing in the morning it’s Robin (Lily’s mother) who is sucking up to us and looking for start-of-the-day attention. Today it was Lily. Maybe she knows we’re pleased that she used the new cat bed and wants to soak up the extra level of human happiness.

Or maybe she’s just mugging for the camera.

Home

We’ve been home for a few hours. I fed the cats, I went grocery shopping, we had dinner. Yeah, we’re home again.

It was snowing when we left Burlington, VT. Not a lot, but enough to make some of the roads pretty sloppy. The car’s anti-lock breaks kicked in a couple of times before we made it to the highway. Once we were on route 89 though, the only real issue with the winter weather was spray off of the road. No problem.

Back to work tomorrow. Mondays are usually in the office, but this week it’s at home. That’ll be nice, don’t you think?

In closing, here’s a random pic from behind a gas station somewhere off of route 89 in Vermont.

Feline Frustration

Sitting on this table and staring out the window is one of Robin Sparkles’ favorite things to do. I am not sure how happy she is about the xmas decoration situation though. She looks a little cheesed off in this picture.

All I can say is, suck it up feline. It’s going to get worse before it gets better. HoHoHo and shit.

TMI

Ready for some TMI action?

I just booked a colonoscopy. Getting old sucks sometimes, doesn’t it? Middle age can bite my shiny metal ass.

How’s that for Too Much Information? Heh heh.

Here’s a cat, pondering the universe…
