I don’t want to spend too much time ranting about politics, but for years we have been wondering how far Cheeto Trump (I heard him called Mangolini today, as in Mango colored Mussolini… get it?) has to fall before his cult would stop backing him.
Looks like it will need to be further down the shitter than potentially selling nuclear secrets.
Trump committing espionage is forgivable to the cult, but Obama wearing a tan suit is unforgivable.
I’ve spent the last half hour or so reading news reports from last night’s January 6th Committee hearing. I don’t think we learned much of anything new. Trump ignored it. Pence, while his life was being threatened, tried to get help to the Capitol. It was brutal. It was like a war zone. It was all based on an idiotic set of lies.
I guess what we did learn included that scumbag Bill Bar did not resign to spend more time with his family like he said. I guess lying just comes naturally to these assholes. Maybe they are allergic to the truth? He resigned because the election fraud claims were bullshit (his word) and he wanted no part in it. So instead of being honorable and patriotic, he lied and said he wanted to spend more time with his family. Thanks, dick.
Trump’s daughter/love interest said she did not agree with the claims that the election was stolen. Your daddy is going to be so mad at you. Another key figure who passed on the chance to be honorable and patriotic and do the right thing for the country. I guess the apple doesn’t fall far, yadda yadda.
Liz Cheney would make a good Republican candidate for president in 2024. Well, she would if the Republican party were still an actual thing rather than the nazi murder cult it has become. As it stands now she’d likely be one of the first in front of the firing squad rather than a potentially strong leader. She also doesn’t have a penis, so even a rational non-nazi cult Republican party would pass on her.
We’ll have to see what comes up at the next public hearing to see if we’ve learned anything useful.
I haven’t heard anything from the House of Representatives today. The expectation was they were going to be debating something about the 25th Amendment. Can the Congress force Pence’s cowardly hand? I don’t know. They can vote on whether or not to impeach the terrorist in chief, but it sounded like they were waiting until tomorrow for that.
Why are they waiting? Every minute cheeto remains in power is one minute closer to a catastrophe. Remove the fascist terrorist now. Get him out of there. Stop putzing around and DO SOMETHING. He orchestrated an armed assault on the US Capitol building. He needs to be in jail and he needs to be there six fucking days ago.
It’s so freakin’ frustrating. It’s like the entire Congress wasn’t paying attention when the mob stormed their chambers. What the ever loving fuck?
I can’t even distract myself with hockey yet. The NHL opens up tomorrow and the Bruins open up on Thursday. I thought we would have a new, temporary president by then, but nope. Terrorists are only punished when they pray to the wrong version of god. That’s the precedent the US Federal government is setting right now. Nice job, folks. Let the evil run free. Good work.
On the up side, I coded a custom utility today. I usually let my staff handle tasks like that, but it’s been so long since I’ve done it I felt the need to make sure I still know how. I do. At least until it gets to peer review and the reviewer skewers it. That’s gonna happen. Until then, good boy, robbie.
Now REMOVE THE GOD DAMNED TERRORIST. Pretty please.
Now I know that this won’t amount to anything, and even if it did the nazi in washington would probably pardon him because consequences aren’t a thing for republicans.
However, knowing that this piece of shit is going to spend at least a day in jail has warmed my heart in a way that nothing political, including all of the speeches from the Democratic convention could not.
Are you going to read Bolton’s Book? Forgiving that the scumbag fascist stole the name from a Hamilton song, I still don’t think I want to read it.
Under normal circumstances, I would jump at the chance to read the inside dirt on the trump fascist regime, especially if it was written by someone who worked for him. In this case though… I don’t think I want to.
On the one hand, I read a review that says the writing is terrible. That is enough to turn me away. I don’t want the experience of reading the book to be painful when the subject matter is already super painful.
Mostly though… I just can’t get over that we knew all of this dirt was out there before the impeachment vote and the fascist collaborators in the senate ignored it all and didn’t subpoena him. That fact is so disgusting to me that I just can’t get past it.
Not to imply that I would ever pay money for something that Bolton would profit from. In this case I don’t even think I would read a pirated copy of the book. Screw that nazi.
My personal social distance/quarantinish experience began when I left the office at 5:30PM on Friday March 13th. Today is April 13th. I’ve been at this for a full month. I, like most of us, was initially expecting about two weeks. I think by the time I punched in to work for my first full time working at home day on the 16th we all knew it was going to be longer than we thought.
We still don’t know how long it’s going to go on. The nazi in the white house wants it all over by May, but he’s a nazi and doesn’t care if you live or die so his opinion is invalid. The idea here is still to make life easier on those who are trying to save lives. The president is more concerned with the bank accounts of the 1% than he is with saving lives. That’s the only thing he’s made clear to the American people through all of this. Money good, lives irreverent. Of course the 1/2 of the country who worships him as their false god are falling right into line with his bullshit and that means more people are definitely going to die.
Political Rant Over.
Anyway, it’s one month for me. It was one month a couple of days ago for my wife. The exact date is fuzzier for the kids. One was on spring break when it all started. The other was in the middle of a somewhat confused response that is still being straightened out. That’s not a criticism. The school systems in the United States had to redefine their entire existence overnight. It’s no wonder it was tough to figure out. I applaud them all for the progress they’ve made.
So what I’m trying to say is, happy one month quarantinaversary, everyone. Stay home!
So we’re underway. The third impeachment trial in US history. The first of the three that will be a total and complete farce.
Our senate took oaths to be impartial. Isn’t that cute? The republican leadership has already said they will collaborate with the white house, and they took “oaths” to be impartial.
When the collaborators do their job to rubber stamp their fuhrer’s desired outcome, can we then impeach every single one of them for breaking their oath? Does the idea of an oath even have meaning anymore?
