Three Bodies of Water in One Morning Part Two: Forrest Lake

Part two of this morning’s photo adventure is Forrest Lake. I’ve been here a few times and the pictures always disappoint me. Not today. Not really, at least.

There were a lot of people at the boat launch area so I walked a little toward the closed beach to keep plenty of social distance. The mist coming off the lake made the stop worthwhile.

Dig how still the water was.

Is it really a lake, or is it more like a pond. Seems pond-esque to me, but what do I know?

The public beach closed at the end of August.

Dig that crazy mist.

I should have brought my polarizing filter but it doesn’t fit on the lens I was using.

Next stop is the final stop, at the Merrimack River.

Want to Move to Scottland?

This Haunted, Abandoned Village in Scotland Can Be Yours for $173,000

Take my money, please!

I don’t mind sharing the property with a ghost. We can do some research to find out how to make ghosts like you instead of scare you and then we can have the ghost predict the future for us. Let the riches roll in, babie! Hey ghost lady, can you give us the line on this week’s Powerball? Thanks, ghost lady!

I’ve always wanted to live on a lake. In this case I would technically be living on a Loch, but I think I will be okay splitting that particular hair. I might even take up fishing, though I think I’m more of a catch and release kinda guy than kill it and grill it.

Of course, the best part about living in Scottland? No trump supporters. Kiss my kilt wearing ass, fascists.

4th of July

Happy 4th of July to all of the folks visiting from the U S of A. Are you having a good time celebrating? Good!

We are up in New Hampshire somewhere trying to find ourselves a lake to jump in. Literally.

Happy Birthday, USA!

Sunrise Over Canobie Lake

The one upside to taking the kids to their father’s house before school in the morning is that sometimes we get a brief glimpse at the sun rising over Canobie Lake.  This morning on the way there it was just barely above the trees and it looked spectacular, with the lake all covered in yesterday’s snow and all.  After dropping the kids off I stopped for a photo op.  It wasn’t as awesome as it had been five minutes before, but it was still an excellent view.

I tried getting a sunrise picture last week using my iPhone.  This time I was better prepared and took my Nikon.

I will probably wait for Spring to try this one again, although the timing of the sunrise with the pre-school drive will be all out of whack.  Maybe on a vacation day.  Who knows.  These would be better if the lake was actually water.
