Everything at South of the Border was closed! We stopped in a parking lot and took a few pictures, just to say we’d finally stopped there.

Forgotten Roll of Film
I thought my film camera was empty. I was going to put my last roll of black and white film into it and test drive it with Dad’s cheap zoom lens.
Turns out I was wrong. I put a roll of color film into my camera on our last day at Disney World and then never took a single shot. I put Dad’s lens on it, but I’ll have to wait for 36 shots before I load another black and white roll.
It’s supposed to snow all day tomorrow, though no accumulation thankfully, but it’s supposed to be sunny out on Sunday at dawn. I’m thinking of taking the new mirrorless camera and one, if not both, film camera out that morning. Possibly to the ocean for some sunrise pics. My film camera has 36 shots left. Dad’s has 20.
In other news, Harry is on the way. He’s somewhere in New Hampshire though he hasn’t reached route 93 yet. He’ll be here in a couple of hours, I think. Drive safe, Harry!
Downtown Again: Underexposed Edition
I forgot to check something when I took this. I can’t remember exactly, but some setting was off and the light meter wasn’t at a good spot and I ended up a little underexposed… and I kinda like it.
I think I was trying to trigger the light meter and I bumped the shutter button too hard. I think that was what happened.
Still Downtown
Downtown Methuen
As soon as the weather starts clearing up, I’ll start shooting downtown again. I promise.
Clock
Starting to get the film bug again. Just a little bit. As I wrote below I spent some time looking at cheap, used lenses yesterday. I have about half a roll of Fuji Superia 400 left in Dad’s camera. I’m thinking up next will be my last roll of black and white, Kentmere 100, in my camera but with Dad’s cheap-o zoom lens. We’ll see how all of those play together.
After that? Ebay? A 28mm or 35mm prime? A zoom that runs from something like 75-200mm? Something like that? No idea. We’ll see what happens… if anything happens. I want to get something nice and long for my Z5 as well. All of that without spending any money? Sure, right.
This clock belonged to my grandmother… I think. It might have been a great aunt or a great uncle. It doesn’t work but I hope to look into finding someone to fix it over the summer. We’ll see.
Ebay and I spent some time together yesterday looking at Nikkor ais lenses. Gear Acquisition Syndrome is starting to rear it’s ugly head again.
Helicopter Flare
I was trying to get the helicopter, but I got the huge flare instead. Nice job, JJ Abrams.

Galaxy’s Edge in Florida in January… Galaxy’s Edge in California in September?
Running Late on a Friday Morning
I didn’t get out of bed until almost 6:00am, which is almost an hour later than I was hoping to get up, and then got wrapped up in a couple of things and didn’t get to my morning joggin’ (yoggin’) until after 7:00am. Yikes!
While exercising, I watched a youtube video with two film guys gone shootin’ in New York. I thought to myself, self? You and your wife are going to New York this weekend, damn it! Then I checked the weather and saw we’re getting a foot of snow starting tonight and ending sometime tomorrow night.
Shit.
No New York this week. No ocean pics, no nothing pics outside of the house. What a waste. We need to go to New York soon though, and I need to take one of the film cameras with me. There. I said it. New York on film, babie! It’s going to happen. The sooner the better. I used to write all of those Stir Crazy Files posts in the early days of the pandemic lock down, but this one is stir crazy for really reals. I need to get out of the house.
My mother’s big brother is out of the hospital. I am happy. We needed some good family news, and now we have some. Continue to get well, Uncle Jim.
Jen is having computer problems. Last night I went to Micro Center in Cambridge, MA to get some components that might help, but apparently they aren’t. We might have to fly back there tonight after work, assuming the snow doesn’t come early. The Bruins aren’t playing tonight, but the Celtics have a home game at 7:30. We’re bound to hit rush hour traffic plus Celtics traffic, but it will be okay. Assuming the snow doesn’t come early. Fingers crossed.
Okay. It’s 8:24 and I still need to shower and shave and get dressed before punching into work at 9:00. I am way behind schedule today. I hate this feeling.
I am going to cheer myself up by sharing one of my favorite film shots from the Disney World trip in January. This is my road tripping travel companion love of my life woman of my dreams wife Jennifer. I absolutely adore this picture. It’s my favorite film shot by far. By miles. By astronomical units. By light years. I love her and I love this photo of her. How could you not fall head over heels in love with that smile?
