One Awful Episode Down, Five Awful Episodes to Go

I did it. I watched the first episode of the final half-season of Fear the Walking Dead. It was just as atrocious as I expected it to be.

Spoilers ahead, sort of… but you’re not watching this dumpster fire of a shit show so you don’t have to worry about spoilers, right?

The worst part about the bad guy reveal is that it erases what was probably the most dramatic, intense, shocking moment of season three, which is not only the best season of Fear the Walking Dead, but might actually be the best season of the entire Walking Dead franchise. It was a holy shit moment for the ages and now it’s just a dumb after thought of stupidity. Gee thanks, Fear. Way to diarrhea all over your best moments.

Snowpiercer

I started watching Snowpiercer yesterday. I heard it was good. Rotten Tomatoes says it’s pretty good. The reviews aren’t bad.

It’s just the premise of the whole thing though… It’s just so… dumb.

The world is uninhabitable so the lucky folks who were there at the end… ride a train… forever. The train has 1001 cars. It travels all around the world. Ummm…. okay.

I’m only on the second episode and I haven’t decided if it’s good enough to keep going. I do know that the premise is really, really dumb.

I am an Idiot

Sometimes my own stupid just floors me.

Twice in the last four days I have written on this little bloggerino that in order to see the sun rise you have to face West.

West.

What a friggin’ idiot!  I’m like, f*ck you, puppet!  Only in this case I’m the puppet!

East, you idiot.  The sun rises in the East.

Damn, what a jerk!

Stupid Lunch

For years now I’ve been telling myself, “if you make your lunch for the next day at night before bed then you won’t have to worry about it in the morning, and if you’re running late it will be okay because you can still brown bag it.”

Last night I made today’s lunch before I went to bed. I was so proud of myself. Good job, Robbie!

When I left for work this morning I forgot it. My nice little lunch bag is still sitting in the fridge at home. I didn’t remember it until I was walking into the door at work.

Stupid lunch. Stupid Robbie.

The Final Pre-50/90 Song

A little mini-suite. I had my 10 songs underway for my June album in a month project and like a doofus I threw together an extra song at the last minute, and made it three songs in one. (I then added two more, because I’m dumb).

Mostly this was an excuse to add an acoustic guitar (my Takamine 12-string) and a Gibson electric (ES 335 Pro) to a project that had been 100% Stratocaster to that point.

One night recently my two step kids and I all had a really difficult time falling asleep. That lead to some anxiety among the kids who thought that the inability to sleep was a sign that there was something wrong with them. I reassured them that it happens to all of us once in a while and that they should just relax, and then I wrote a song about not being able to sleep because of nightmares. I am a lyrical hypocrite. Accept it, I have.

June Music is now as done as done can be. It’s 11:45pm on July 3rd. 50/90 officially starts in 15 minutes. I, however, will wait until morning because I am exhausted.

G’Night everyone!

Another Day of Snow Sucking Up the Place

I took the kids to their Dad’s house this morning so that they could catch their rides to school.  I was a little surprised by the state of some of the roads.  The snow ended yesterday morning, but it still was a little sloppy here and there.  Route 93 North seemed to be much icier than I had expected.

I’m working from home today, so I didn’t have to deal with my long commute.  My wife, however, has to go to a training in Boston today.  She left the house at 6:30am.  She called me at 8:00 and she’d only made it about half way, if that.  As of 8:15 she still wasn’t even remotely close.

Why?

Is this a case of the state dropping the ball on cleaning up the highways, or is it just an example of a phenomenon that occurs each year where most drivers react to the first snowfall of the year by completely forgetting how to drive in the snow.  I would guess that it’s a combination, but frankly the snow fell yesterday and both things should have been cleared up by today.

Hang in there, my love.  Be safe.  I love you!
