Post Office

I made it to the Post Office this morning before work. My five rolls of film that are ready to develop are on their way West, heading to the lab. I won’t start feeling all giddy and excited until I get a notification saying the package has arrived. Then I’ll start refreshing my order status all day long, waiting for word that the scans are done.

Nerd boy over here is about to get nerdy.

Here’s the clock from downtown. Heading South toward the post office:

And here’s the clock again, this time heading North toward home:

Finally, today’s photo a day photo submission is this view from behind the post office parking lot. Somewhere I have pictures of this gazebo that aren’t through the trees from a nearby parking lot. Maybe I’ll dig one out and share it. Later.

Driving Around

I had to go to a Fed Ex office, the grocery store, Lowe’s, and Home Depot. Success on all fronts. Everything that needed to be returned has been returned, and everything that needed to be picked up has been picked up… and I treated myself to stop at the sugar free bakery.

Picture, please? Okay.

Drive

Out for a drive to run some errands. Obligatory downtown pics.

On the way there…

On the way home…

While I was driving home the Bruins took a 2-0 lead over the Maple Leafs. Since getting home, the Leafs tied it up. Crud.

The Film Is On The Way

Oh happy day, the film is on the way!

On Friday I ordered five rolls of 35mm film development from a photo lab in California. I packaged it all up and planned to drop it off at the post office on Saturday before I woke up sick and didn’t leave the couch for the entire weekend.

Today, Monday, I kicked off my lunch break with a drive to the post office downtown where I dropped off my package full of rolls of film and kicked off the anticipation for new film scans. How long will it take to get to the lab? No idea. How long will it take the lab to develop the film? No idea. How long will it take for the lab to get the scans back to me? Again, I have no idea.

I don’t know how long any of the process will take, but I do know that I CAN’T WAIT!!!

In closing, here are two pics of the downtown clock… because.

Dam

I went out to run an errand today and I took my new camera with me. After everything was done I stopped at the Spicket Falls Dam because of course I did.

This is the first time I saw anyone on the walkway above the dam who wasn’t me!

On the way home, stoplight theater AND the clock. I put the camera in auto mode and took this through the windshield.

Manual Mode Part 1

I am about to post a bunch of pictures from this morning’s manual mode bonanza. I am going to break it into three posts. One will be downtown Methuen and the top of the Spicket Falls Dam, The second will be the Methuen Rail Trail and the Bird Sanctuary. The third will be Walnut Grove cemetery.

Here’s the downtown and the dam pics. I don’t think I will give any details, just pics.

All of these were shot with my Nikon D90 in manual mode because I am insane.

Around the Block

I drove around the block today. By “the block” I actually mean about 25% of the city, but it’s kinda a block if you squint a little.

Lots of construction downtown. New sidewalks, maybe?

It’s another gorgeous day out there. A really good day for a half day from work, a doctor’s appointment, a haircut, and an inspection sticker for the Mazda. Also a drive around the block.
