Gloomy Lake

The weather is kinda crummy today but in the interest of the photo-a-day thing and avoiding crowds at supermarkets I found myself taking the back roads through Salem, NH and I stopped at Canobie Lake and snapped a couple pics. They suck, but so what?

The question now is, are we going back to Vermont again? Bellana and her roommates were in Massachusetts yesterday and they stopped at the house for a quick hello. We think one of them left their coat here because there is a coat in the dining room that doesn’t belong to either of us. It’s cold out today so we may be bringing it back to whichever roommate left it. No clear plans yet, but we’ll see.

Two Stops This Morning – Color Edition

Part two of this morning’s visits to the Methuen Rail Trail and Canobie Lake. This time in color.

I like this one, but I prefer the black and white version. No one is more surprised than I am.

I wanted to have a car in the shot and I didn’t have to wait long. By the time I left there was a traffic jam.

I don’t like rainy days, but we seriously need a bunch of them right now.

Two Stops This Morning – Black and White Edition

I brought cameras to two locations today. First was the Methuen Rail Trail, and later was a boat launch spot on Canobie Lake in Windham. Here are the monochrome pics in sort of reverse order.

The drought is bad at Canobie Lake. It’s worse at the Spicket River, but those pics are still to come.

I have no idea where this bridge over the rail trail is. It looks like an old foot bridge. I might have to look for it on Google Maps or something.

The Mighty Spicket River is almost gone.

I took color versions of all of these as well, so that will come later today. Most of them have film equivalents too. You’ll see those… someday.

Took advantage of taking a vacation day on a kid day to stop and take a pic at my favorite spot on the kid day commute.

Don’t you even think about launching a boat off a trailer at this spot. The town of Windham will go medieval on your ass.

Canobie Lake – Hipstamatic Shake to Shuffle

Stopped at my favorite spot on Canobie Lake this morning for a little just-after-sunrise shake to shuffle with the ol’ hipstamatic. I think it actually saved most of the pictures I took, and it didn’t crash once! Progress!
