Made a Friend

I took the trash out this morning and snuck a peak into the back yard. The bird feeders are empty, but my new friend here was hanging out picking through the leftovers on the ground.

We hung out for a while, getting to know each other. Strangely he’s not a very big fan of Thanksgiving. I wonder why?

Busy and Stressful

Today has been a super busy and stressful day. Yesterday was too, starting in the middle of my lunch break. Today calmed down a little, just long enough for me to sneak in some food, but it’s likely going to get crazy again.

Add to all of the work stuff the fact that the squirrels outside have been chasing each other around and fighting and making all sorts of noise. The cats have been monitoring the situation and will let me know if anything weird happens. Thanks, cats.

Back to Normal

We’re home and it’s Monday and we’re back to work. We’re both working from home, digging out from under a mountain of emails that piled up over the last week.

That also means we’re back to lots of cat photos. Everything is back to normal now.

Oh well.

Traffic

Traffic heading into the office this morning was pretty bad. Fortunately for my schedule, I left the house super early and made it to work with plenty of time to spare.

This weekend is Memorial Day weekend here in the United States. The expectation is that everyone and their uncle will be out on the highways at some point. We’re likely going to see them all. We’re driving from Massachusetts to Florida. The traffic is going to be epic. Or at least the potential for it is there.

I’m just prepping myself for the worst while hoping for the best. We’re giving ourselves a ton of extra time for the drive, so even a slew of awful traffic won’t put us off our schedule. We’re ready and we can hack it. I just hope we don’t have to.

Traffic sucks, man.
