I went with a different photo lab this time. Unfortunately that means when I ship these kiddos they have to go all the way to California instead of just up the road to New Hampshire. This round is going to take a little more time.

Flake Days

Daily writing prompt
Do lazy days make you feel rested or unproductive?

In my house we have a tradition that we used to call “flake days.” The kids were little and had all sorts of activities on the weekends and we would be running ragged trying to keep up with everything. Every now and then the schedule would work out and we would have a day with nothing scheduled so we’d take advantage of it by just spending the day flaking in font of the TV watching movies or playing games or just reading a book. Those were lazy and unproductive days but they were simply wonderful.

Now that the kids have grown up and moved out I still find the occasional flake day to be beneficial. They are definitely unproductive and I do often feel guilty about that, but Jen and I both work hard during the week and sometimes a quiet, unproductive Saturday or Sunday is just what we need.

I look at energy and motivation and drive as a sort of gas tank. Sometimes you need to take a weekend day off to let the tank fill itself up so that you are better equipped to handle what comes up during the week. Does that make sense? Is that me justifying being lazy? Probably. Do I care? Nope, I do not.

Film Plans

I took a look at my film stash this morning. I actually have five rolls ready to develop. I thought there were only three. I went back and checked my notes and sure enough, there are five. How did I lose track?

You know what this means? It means that tomorrow or the next day I will be placing an order to have five rolls of film developed. I think I am going to try a different lab this time, and I might go for a slightly higher res scan. Not sure about that yet. We’ll have to check out the prices first.

More info to come. I can see how excited you all are about all of this. Film time, folks!

Apology Letter

I just heard that Sidney Powell (remember her?) has plead guilty in her Georgia election subversion case.

Here’s the CNN article.

Allow me to quote a portion of the story:

Fulton County prosecutors are recommending a sentence of six years probation. Powell will also be required to testify at future trials and write an apology letter to the citizens of Georgia.

By Marshall Cohen

Right then, let’s make this clear. What we’re saying here is that the penalty for trying to overthrow a presidential election is having to write an apology letter. Let me read it again…

Yup, six years probation, meaning no jail time, having to testify at future trials, which she would have been subpoenaed for anyway, and having to write an apology letter to the citizens of Georgia.

Yup, I think that’s what the article is saying. Rig a presidential election… write an apology letter. I’m sure it’s going to be utterly heartfelt and sincere, right?

Right?
