Party Day

No music this morning. We’re too busy getting ready for the party today. We may have about 30 people here, which is 3 times the crowd we had for our Christmas Eve party. How you say, “packed house?”

If I get some downtime before the party, or maybe late tonight I might try to sneak something quick in. I’m at a little more than 27 minutes. 35 is the minimum goal, but I like to shoot for 40. I might do another medley/suite/crappy thing before it’s done.

Insanity

Yes, I am insane.

Certifiably insane.

It’s Saturday and I got up at a little past 5:00am to try and write a little music. It’s only the fifth day of February and I already have six songs underway. Being so far ahead of my usual pace will just make it that much more pathetic when I don’t finish at all.

WOOHOO!

Today is a day that is reserved for cleaning… mostly. Cleaning and preparations for tomorrow’s birthday party for a certain boy who turned eight yesterday. I’m not sure where we’re going to put all of the cars, what with our winter of constant blizzards and all. I think we might have to ask people to park at the strip mall down the road and I’ll shuttle everyone back and forth in the van.

Probably.

Anyway, I’m off to start the real non-goofy-music-nerd part of the day.

Music Update

The music updates are even lamer than the constant kitty updates, aren’t they.

Crappy song #5 is underway. It’s lame. It’s overly simplistic. I wonder if forcing out five songs worth of lame ideas in four days might be taxing the teeny tiny idea well in my teeny tiny brain.

Much more importantly, today is my step son’s eighth birthday!

Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to our little man,
Happy birthday to you!

Birthday and Birth Day

Tomorrow is my step son’s birthday. He’s turning eight. He’s really excited. I’m excited for him. Eight is a good age. He’s going to love it.

Also tomorrow, my big sister has a big day. I don’t want to give anything away, but she is nine months pregnant and has a noon time appointment at some hospital for some procedure that starts with a ‘C’.

On the down side, in the midst of all the imminent celebrating, my step daughter is sick. She has a sore throat and a fever. She won’t be going to school tomorrow. That’s quite the bummer. I hope she feels better soon.

That was Fun

Wow. That was a fun drive.

I was 25 minutes late on Tuesday due to snow related traffic.

I left my house 20 minutes earlier today than Tuesday.

I was 25 minutes late today due to snow related traffic.

It was snowing a lot on Tuesday morning. It wasn’t snowing at all today.

I would like to publicly thank the towns of Carlisle, Concord, Lincoln, and Wayland for the bang up job they did clearing the snow off the roads yesterday. Especially on route 126. That road was bad in Concord, really bad in Lincoln, and in Wayland the snow on the state highway was deep enough to be hitting my under carriage.

Thanks folks!

In the interest of fairness, I give a sincere, not sarcastic, thank you to Methuen*, Tewksbury, and Billerica for doing a good job clearing snow on those few roads I traveled on. Also, routes 213, 93, and 495 were all in great shape. Thanks.

*This excludes the douche I mentioned in a post last night who dumped his plow into my driveway. That particular driver is still a douche.
