I have a slight change in priorities today. There are a few errands to run.

First though, I must document the back yard after yet another snowfall last night. This one was one of those icy ones that clings to the trees and is actually pretty to look at. Crazy, I know.

First though, an icicle update. This huge one on the back of the house is still hanging on, but it looks like it’s seen better days. Temps in the mid 30’s will do that to ya.

Remember, 2011 is the year of the macro.

We’ve been told that there is a melt spawned brook that runs on the edge of our property. I wonder if that spot there is a puddle… and is that the beginnings of our brook? (I don’t thin so)

Branches and snow. Not bad to look at, but I’d really rather the same image with no snow. No snow on the branches, no snow on the ground, no snow anywhere in sight.

I set my alarm for five am today. After hitting snooze twice I just shut it off.

I’m still going to work on the music though. My company is trying to implement a new second shift that will handle our newest products exclusively. It won’t be up and running for another 10 months or so. In the mean time those of us who support the latest and greatest during the day will occasionally be covering extended business hours.

It’s on a volunteer basis to begin with, but if any days aren’t chosen they will be assigned based on some sort of rotation.

I was assigned tonight. I absolutely did not volunteer. I’m just lucky I don’t miss a kid night. I hate crap like this. Tonight I am the only programmer covering a number of applications, only one of which I actually know. Nice.

So what this means is, I have the morning and early afternoon to make bad music in my cellar.

I’m trying hard to focus on that as the positive when the negative (apart from covering apps I know nothing of) is that I won’t be seeing my wife again until morning.

That sucks, huge.

We got to meet our new nephew tonight, and yes his Uncle Robbie and auntie Jen got to hold him. He’s adorable!

Afterwards the love of my life and I went to dinner to celebrate her birthday.

A pretty good night, if I do say so myself.

Testing a new/old app. Not happy about this, but what can you do?

Addendum: Flickr didn’t work, but it looks like picasa did. There are no good blogger apps for the iPhone. Google? WTF??? So in order to get the flexibility and functionality I need… I had to upgrade from the free blogpress to the paid blogpress. I am such a tool.

Addendum: Does it work? Sort of. The image was wider than the post, but that’s all right. Instagram does the same thing already. This will work for picture posts to the public page, but the private page is no good. I don’t want to manage privacy settings on yet another site. I’m going to look for other apps in the app store, but the blog posting pickings are a tad thin. I may just go back to the old standard… email posts.

I use an app called BlogPressLite to post to this site from my phone. Almost all of those camera phone pictures come to you via that app.

When I set it up initially it was taking images I post and saving them to Google’s Picassa online site.

At some point in the not so distant future, unbeknownst to me (but possibly beknownst to you?) they changed that and started hosting images at their own site.

Apparently today they changed something in the image urls and now none of my images hosted by blogpress (I am not capitalizing their damn name anymore) are not showing. The links still work when you click on them, but the images don’t show.

Way to fuck up my site without even telling me my site was at risk of fucking up, you bunch of moron assholes!

For example.

Yesterday I posted an image if our 8 year old birthday boy’s party center piece. The link to the image in the img tag is this:

If you click that, it works. It shows you a small image of the picture I took. A really small one. Well I guess that explains why all of the instagram and hipstamatic (and iPhone in general) pictures have looked like utter shit for the last few weeks. They are way over blown.

Next, I clicked on the image line itself and it brought me to their frigging lame site page. I view the image off of that page and I see it at this link:

This following the typical terrible drive in to work today has me totally in a stabbing mood. I’m done with blogpress. You had your chance, assholes, and you blew it. I’d rather post via email than see pathetic crap like this. You suck.

I wanted to make some 5:00am music today, but after the craziness of the party prep I couldn’t wake up. Tomorrow I don’t go in to work until the late afternoon so I hope to make some decent progress.

Today is my lovely, wonderful wife’s birthday. She turns 21 today (hehe) I’m so happy for her.

I keep trying to tell her how important she is to me and I keep coming up miles short.
