Clockwork Angels Tour in the Theater

Here is my short review of the Rush Clockwork Angels Tour video, as shown in select theaters tonight.

The movie started at the concert’s intermission. I was a tad confused, but figured they were just letting us get home at a decent hour. I’m not sure how it went everywhere, but the sound at the Showcase in Lowell, MA was absolute shit. Complete garbage. It was just the stereo mix, with none of the movie theater surround sound. The only speakers in use were at the front of the theater and they were tinny and really harsh.

Apart from that though, it was awesome. The only way it could have been better was if my love had come with us.

I’m looking forward to the blu ray. I’ll add it to my Christmas list and try my hardest not to buy it myself.

The Rush Clockwork Angels Tour video comes out on DVD and Blu-ray tomorrow. I may not be able to get it right away, but I expect to have one by the weekend.

They are running the video in select movie theaters tonight. Mike the bass player got me a ticket. He got one for my beloved too, but she is not feeling up to it.

It won’t be fun without her, and it will never be as cool as sitting/standing in the 9th row anyway.

Surround Sound Spooky

I watched the first three seasons of Th Walking Dead on my iPad with headphones on. In the last few weeks I’ve started watching Sunday night’s episodes on Monday morning before logging into work to telecommute. I’ve learned something about the show.

There was a major creepiness factor that I was missing out on. Surround Sound.

I’m sitting in the living room all alone, watching the tube, and I keep hearing noises coming from all around me. Creepy, bump in the night kinda noises. It’s the damn TV show! As if grossing me out and scaring the living daylights out of me isn’t enough, now it’s got to throw in these little touches!

What a great show!

Scared

In the immortal words of just about every character in The Star Wars universe,

I have a bad feeling about this.

One of my humongous customers is taking an update today. I’m on call until start of business tomorrow. Normally we don’t get calls during update coverages, but in the past this particular customer has been the exception.

Wish me luck, okay?

May the force be with them during this stressful time.
