Music Day Update
All of the vocals are done. Mercifully for me, but painfully to anyone who ever listens to them.
Two of the seven songs are done save for mixing.
I’ve been using the Fender version of the Amplitude app for my leads. I’ve always wanted a Twin Reverb (not to mention a Phaser).
My playing is awful and I’m starting to get blisters. Hooray.
Fish Slapping Dance
In case you haven’t heard, Monty Python are going to reunite for a stage show.
And there was much rejoicing!
Friday is Music Day… I Think
I took today off with the express purpose of finishing as much of the seven national solo album month songs as I can. I want to at least have the vocals done and any acoustic instruments (re: 12-string) as I can. I can sneak the electric guitar parts in later if need be, but ideally I’d like to have all of the tracking done today.
I started feeling sick yesterday. Coughing and a little stuffy nose. I am not better this morning.
The music project might be in even more trouble than I already thought.
I blame all of this on the Bruins losing to the Blues in a shootout last night. I listened to most of the game on the radio and then somehow fell asleep with the shootout tied at one. How did that happen? Maybe if they’d played 10 or 20 minutes of overtime instead of five minutes I would have been engaged in the game enough to stay awake. Shootouts are gimmicks. I don’t like them. Four on Four overtime is a gimmick too, but at least it still looks like a hockey game.
Anyway… wish me music luck. I think I am going to need it.
Noise, Noise, and More Noise
Fast Commute
I worked from the office this morning, but I’m telecommuting in the afternoon. It marks the first time I got to drive home from Westwood outside of rush hour traffic. I set the stop watch on my phone when I punched out. I wanted to time the trip from my desk in the office to my desk at home.
Considering that I’ve had a bunch of two hour commute since moving to Westwood, this is astounding to me. And it makes each morning and evening commute that much more insulting.

Blogaversary
I missed it. Yesterday marked five years since my first post to Blogger. Unless my math is off, that makes five years with at least one post a day every day except one. There has only been one time over the last 1800+ days when I failed to post to either of the Blogger pages or this little wordpress.com page. How lame am I? Haven’t I heard that blogging is no longer cool? Well yeah I’ve heard. That’s why I still do it! Because it’s not cool! If it were cool I wouldn’t be caught dead doing it. Given the crap I post I figured that would be obvious.
So I’ve been yapping on about National Solo Album Month. (No progress. If I can schedule a vacation day I might be able to finish, otherwise no way). I knew that NaSoAlMo wasn’t the only creative challenge in November. National Novel Writing Month was the original November challenge. Turns out there is another one going on. NaBloPoMo: National Blog Posting Month. The goal is to post once a day for the whole month of November. I don’t need to sign up for that. I’ve completed the challenge in 59 of the last 60 months. I’m good for now.
Happy blogging, my fellow net nerds!
