Robin

You know what? I like the results I get with my camera. iPhones take great pictures man, but they don’t take them like this… and I suck at this stuff and still take pics that look good. Imagine what someone with talent could do with my camera?

It helps that I have an A-list model to work with, of course. It’s not me, it’s her. Definitely. Thanks, Robin.

Early Morning Play Time

I mentioned last night that I stupidly added a song to the 50 songs in 90 days pipeline even though I was almost finished with the whole project and there is less than a week left before it ends.

What I didn’t mention was that I put all of the guitar tracks, both lead and rhythm, on the song this morning before work. I could have spent that time mixing a song or something and actually getting closer to being finished but no… I played the guitar.

I did it and I am not sorry.

Spinning Media

I brought this home from my father’s apartment over the weekend. Having it makes me sad and makes me happy at the same time. You could say I am conflicted.

It’s a radio, a CD player, a cassette player (believe it or not), and a turn table all in one. I miss my dad. Also, to make matters worse, today is my mother’s birthday. I miss my mom too. I really don’t like feeling this way.

Late

Yesterday was my first day back to work after a week’s vacation. It was not the usual first day back as I walked right into some big process changes that needed to be handled and communicated to my staff. It was an odd day all around.

Today is more like the usual first day back. I left the house at 7:30am and got to the office 10 minutes late.

Yeah… welcome back, Robert.

I did manage to get my exercise in for the day and to take a stupid photo-a-day-challenge picture. Nothing special.

Here’s hoping the rest of the day/week/career is less frustrating.

Correction

A slight musical correction to a post from earlier today. I said that I wasn’t going to have a chance to play guitar again until Thursday morning. Well, I was wrong. I played guitar tonight. I put lead guitars onto three songs… the last three songs. All of the tracking for the 50 songs in 90 days challenge is complete. Unless I decide to add another song or something silly like that.

How about a little ambiance?

Not Quite Done

I had a vision in my head of finishing the tracking for the 50/90 challenge yesterday by adding vocals and lead guitars to the final three songs. Instead, I didn’t do any of that which lead to me sneaking out and putting vocals on those final three songs this morning. I won’t have time for the last few guitar tracks until… Thursday? I have a bunch of songs still to mix so there’s plenty of work to do between now and then. I mixed one song last night and started mixing another. Hopefully I’ll finish that tonight, but I didn’t get a lot of sleep last night at all and I expect to crash hard tonight. We’ll see.

Pictures. One guitar picture as a reminder to myself that I didn’t play yesterday (or today) even though I wanted to.

Next, a view from my “recording studio” this morning.

Finally, yet another picture of the downtown clock from the drive home. Fascinating.

I have eight days left to finish the 50 songs in 90 days challenge. I am feeling some pressure, but I am also optimistic.
