The irony here is that we are sitting on the new couch, which has a recliner at both ends, and we are both literally sitting on a recliner, and yet are feet are up on the ottoman. Goodness, are we spoiled or what? Heh heh heh.
I’m not sure why but the two cats have spent almost the whole work day so far in the room with me. They are just hanging out and being all mellow.
There are three pictures here and they were all taken hours apart from each other. Lily and Robin are just sacking out in here with me. It’s pretty cool.
I do have a theory as to why they are spending time with me rather than spending time with my wife, Jen. She actually tried trimming their claws. She got a couple of Robin’s last night and a couple of Lily’s this morning. I think they might be trying to avoid her a little bit.
You can try, cats, but those claws are getting trimmed eventually. Sooner rather than later, I guarantee.
There may be time for me to play my guitar tonight. Not only that, I may have an opportunity to play through an amp at ear bleeding volume. Nice, huh?
How much do you want to bet that I’ll sit on the new couch watching television instead? I have zero motivation for anything right now. No motivation at all.
This cat 100% looks like I feel. She is absolutely my spirit animal right now.
Early morning small changes to the living room. Look at the pictures in the last post, then look at this:
We swapped the chairs, put the ottoman in place of the coffee table thing, and slid everything to the left a little. Let’s see how long this lasts. There are a couple of different things we could still try before we declare this project complete.
On a mostly unrelated topic, here’s today’s photo a day picture:
The living room has been slightly rearranged thanks to the new couch. I suspect we will love love love it for a few weeks and then rip it apart and change everything because that’s what crazy kids like us do.
It feels a little silly to be hyping up for a vacation on the first week back after the holidays, but here we are. 18 days until we leave for Florida where the temperatures hopefully will be a ton higher than the frosty 25 degrees we’re dealing with right now.
18 days is a long way off still, but I am starting to get psyched for it. Disney 2025 part one of two.
The work crew in the street pulled in front of our house (it was sewer related, not gas related as I thought) about 10 minutes before the furniture delivery truck arrived. They blocked the road, they blocked the house, they blocked everything. The furniture guys got as close as they could and handled it all swimmingly.
The only way it could have been worse is if the trash and recycle trucks showed up at the same time. I honestly think the Earth would have spun off its axis had that happened.
The upside though is that we have a new couch. We just have to rearrange the living room now. That is a project for after work though.
I want to go home. I’m in the office, 44 miles away. Tonight I want to cook dinner for my beautiful bride and then move some furniture around to make room for a new couch. I got seven hours of sleep last night so I am not terribly tired right now (and it feels weird) so I know I will have the energy to pull it all off. I just wish I were at home so I could just punch out of work and do it all without having the long drive home wedged into the middle of everything. Blah.
Here’s another cat photo that I took this morning before I left for work just because Robin the cat is adorable and she was very willing to pose for the camera today.
Unrelated question… the band Facebook chat left off with hoping we could all get together at some point after the first weekend in January. The first weekend in January is now over. How long should I wait before I start the discussion up again? How soon is too soon? Should I wait three days as if it were a kind of first date thing? Do the same stupid rules apply? I don’t want to sound too eager even though I am SUPER eager to get the band moving again. I want to play. I want to gig. I want, want, want.
