What are your future travel plans?

I feel like I just wrote this post. What was I talking about then?

Travel plans! There were three, there are now two.

Next month, Jen, Bellana, and I are going to a wedding in Bar Harbor, ME. We are turning it into a long weekend kind of trip. Jen and I have been there once before. It was a Memorial Day weekend visit that was also celebrating our anniversary. It was a good weekend trip.

The second trip is another Disney World trip in September. It’s just me and Jen this time. We were reading up about crazy people who book short, weekend style visits to Orlando and it inspired us. Granted, the weekend has turned into a four or five day weekend, but that’s okay with me.

There was also a possible trip to Dallas, TX that was built onto of a business trip for Jen, but that appears to be off now. The business plans are still on but our personal travel is off for now. We’ll see if we can come up with something to replace it. I’ve never been to Texas and really I am not exactly dying for a visit… unless it’s just me going to music stores looking for cool guitars.

And that’s it for travel plans for the moment. I am hoping we’ll be able to sneak in another weekend get away or two before the summer ends. We’ll see.

Hopeful Cats

I have two cats here with me who are both hopeful that you all are having a good day today.

Plum Island

I went back to Plum Island today to take a film shot or two of the lighthouse. I took some digital pics as well because why not? I walked over to the river this time because the lighthouse itself is boring and uninteresting. I saw some chartered fishing boats loading up. It was cool. The Merrimack River is HUGE here, right near the point where it empties into the ocean.

I used Dad’s camera and finished off the roll that I originally loaded up around Christmas. I might send it off to a lab today. I think I have one other roll that’s ready to go as well. Maybe a trip to the post office is time well spent on my last day off this month.

There you have it though, the highlights from this morning’s photo excursion. When will I do another? Not tomorrow, as it is a work from the office day. After that? Who knows.

Sunrise Pics

Success! The cloud cover was non-existent and the weather came through for me! This is Salisbury Beach in Salisbury, Massachusetts. Sunrise was at 5:27am. The first few were before the sun came up. The waves were pretty high for this spot. The tide was pretty high too. I was hoping to be able to go over to the other side of the pier, but I didn’t bother.

There were film shots too but it could be decades before I get them developed. I used my ebay Nikon with Dad’s zoom lens. That lens really is a piece of shit, but I kinda want to have one full roll shot with it. We’ll see if anything comes out recognizable as sunrise at the ocean pics. I definitely got to get myself a new lens for that camera.

Right then, I have finally done a photo-trip this summer! There were two more quick stops, but you’ll see those in the next post. You might say I have the bug again. There will be more morning photo-jaunts before the weather goes bad. I promise. Sunlight be damned, I am doing more of this!

Long Exposures

I’m back from my beach photo stop. I took my first long exposures with my new camera and lens! They are all 30 seconds, and they are all the same view as I didn’t bother moving the tripod much. Enjoy!

Guess What I Just Did

Guess what I just spent about an hour and a half doing on my day off from work. Go on, guess.

Dentist

At the dentist, but not for me.

Sorry, it just felt like a good time for a completely vague, cryptic kinda post. Hehe.

Good Progress

I feel like I have made good progress on a couple of fronts today. First, my stomach is still okay. I had a protein bar for lunch and I have some french fries in the air fryer right now. Not the Golden Crispers from the comfort food post from earlier this morning, but a different type of Ore-Ida frozen french fries. Not as good, but close. We’ll see how we feel after eating a little bit of actual food.

The second progress front is guitar! The 50/90 Challenge and all that stuff. I put rhythm guitars onto two songs, and lead guitars onto two different songs. I played my Les Paul. If I get a chance later I will do some more and play my SG. Variety is the spice of life, after all. I’m also hoping to mix a tune or two before the day comes to an end. We’ll see about that. For now, season five episode two of the new Doctor Who series. Hey, check it out! Prince Daemon Targaryen from House of the Dragon is The Doctor and Nebula from Guardians of the Galaxy is the companion. This might end up being my favorite cast.
