I want to go back here one of these mornings and visit my geese friends again. They’ll probably attack me and kick my ass though.

I sent two rolls of film out for developing yesterday. I shot them both with the Nikon FG-20. On one roll I only used the A mode (aperture priority?). Here’s hoping I didn’t screw anything up.

My bank account and I are going to take a break from film for a while. I’m thinking of doing a great black and white film experiment (probably using Dad’s Pentax K1000) starting some time in late November. Until then I’ll be a strictly digital guy, but I’ll keep posting here until I run out of film shots again.

There’s a family vacation on the books for January and I expect to shoot a ton of film then. Assuming my film stash isn’t ruined by some jerk of an…

Film Developing Waits

The first time I sent film to Old School Photo Lab, I shipped the film out on Monday August 1st, received an email saying it arrived just after noon on August 2nd, and received an email saying my scans were available just after noon on Wednesday August 3rd.

That turn around time seems too fast to be true. I should not expect things to go that quickly again.

Having said that…

I shipped two rolls of film to them on Tuesday September 6th… does that mean I should expect an arrival email today, Wednesday September 7th, between noon and 1:00pm? It’s 11:30 now, so I should be hearing from them in the next 90 minutes? That would be pretty freakin’ sweet!

Where to Next?

I’m not planning on shooting any pitchers tomorrow. The weather is supposed to clear up, but I don’t have it in me. I’ll be ready to go in a couple of days though.

But where should I go? There’s a couple of spots in Lowell. The river walk next to the hockey rink, and pretty much anything downtown. I’m going to be disappointed though because I’m pretty sure they got rid of the cobblestones. Downtown has a sort of 19th century nightmare vibe to it though, so I’ll still go. But when? No idea. I think a Sunday at sunrise would be best. We will see.

Billerica center has some nice things. A little park, the old church. Stuff like that. Concord is nearby and it has one of my favorite places, Minuteman National Park. I’m hesitant to drive that far for a river view when we are balls deep in a brutal drought. That might wait for the fall. Also, my tripod is broken (it doesn’t tilt anymore) so long exposures of the Concord River might not work out. We will see.

Boston. Cambridge. I put in for a couple of days off later in the month and one of them may include an early morning in the city. Weather permitting. We will see.

Is there anything in Salem, NH? Dracut, MA? There has to be, right?

Where else can I go? I might have to ask The Google. We will see.

More Bass Royalty

Holy crap! So you thought a couple of pictures of Geddy Lee and Paul McCartney together were amazing? How’s about we add John Paul Effin’ Jones!

I like to be a dick and refer to Mr Jones as John Baldwin, because that’s his given name. I do not, however refer to Geddy Lee as Gary Weinrib. I’m pretty sure Geddy legally changed his name. Not sure about Jonesy.

Running Behind

Dude! There are episodes of Tales of The Walking Dead, Rick and Morty, House of the Dragon, and whatever the new Lord of the Rings show is called that you haven’t seen yet!

What the hell is wrong with you? Get on this!

At least the kitchen and the bathroom are clean. That’s good work, fat boy.
