Must Have Items
Adam Sandler answered this question at some point in the past. It’s a three pronged answer: Phone, Wallet, Keys.
Since the start of the pandemic, when our household was sustained via multiple, nearly daily, Amazon package deliveries I added a pocket knife to my must-have-with-me-at-all-times list. I started with a cheap little thing I bought at a gift shop somewhere in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, but at Christmas 2021 I bought nice Swiss Army Knives for me, my wife, and my step step kids. My Swiss Army Knife is in my jeans pocket right now as I type this. It’s always either on my person or close by.
There is another answer to this question that is infinitely more important than phone/wallet/keys/pocket knife. It’s not a tool. It’s not a gadget. It’s a symbol and I am never, ever without it.
My wedding ring.
Geddy’s
Geddy’s is a pub in Bar Harbor and I’m a fan.

Uncle Jim
My mother’s brother passed away yesterday. Her sister passed in November, and she passed in February. Over the course of nine awful months, three of the four siblings died.
He had nine children. His wife and the kids were all there at the end. My heart goes out to all of them and their families. It’s only been six months since we lost my mother. I know how they feel.
Rest in peace, Uncle Jim.

Road Trip
On the road again, tooling through Maine. Gas stations and rest areas galore.

No Change
I don’t have such arrogant views about this silly little blog. No, this is not meant to change the world in any way imaginable. This blog exists so that I can send secret messages to my wife, and so that at some point in the future I can ask myself, what was I doing on August 11, 2023 and then actually look up the answer.
That’s it. I am not out to change the world. I am not out to make money. I am just doing this because I think blogging is fun. That’s it, gentle readers. This doesn’t mean anything more than that.
Alternate Universe Me
The multiverse theory. The possibility that there are an infinite number of parallel universes where an infinite number of possibilities all exist at the same time.
Based on the parameters of this theory there therefore exists a universe where I am Batman. That’s pretty much all you need to know about this question.
I will add that, while an infinite number of possibilities exist, I suspect that I still have red hair in all possible universes. The key word being “possible” in this statement. It is not possible for me to have existed any other way. I mean, can you imagine a blonde version of me? No, you cannot. The laws of physics in all possible universes would prevent such a horror.
QED.
Old Timey
Sometimes you just have to go back to hipstamatic and make a hipsta-kitty pic.
