Screen Time

How do you manage screen time for yourself?

Daily writing prompt

Yup. Already done this one. Literally this time. I’m not saying this one is remarkably similar to a previous question. This one is literally a previous question. I got this three days ago when whatever bug in the system that is making this whole daily prompt thing not fun anymore first reared it’s buggy head.

I will answer again because I am a glutton for punishment.

I am 52 years old. I am not a child. I don’t need to manage screen time. If I want to do something on a screen I do it. I am a grown up. I work on a computer eight hours a day. If I want to go a-web-surfing after work or on the weekends then I do. Sorry, but again: Grown up.

If you need to do something to manage your screen time then go for it. Whatever gets you through your day. I will tip my hat to you and wish you well. I don’t do anything about screen time because I am fine living on the screen.

There. One question answered twice. Ugh.

(Not Quite) Daily Haiku for You #78

I heard we might be getting a little bit of snow this week. Probably not, but it’s possible. If nothing else, we’ll get a haiku for you out of it.

First snow tomorrow?
How ’bout a kick in the nuts?
It’s the same difference.

I Don’t Wanna Go

Tomorrow is Wednesday.

Wednesday is my day in the office.

Therefore tomorrow is my day in the office.

I don’t wanna go. I wanna work from home. I don’t wanna commute. I don’t want the sun to go down an hour before I have to drive home.

I know I’m whining like a spoiled little brat but I don’t care. I’m sleepy and I don’t wanna drive 40 miles to work in the morning.

That’s just the way it is, folks.

(Not Quite) Daily Haiku for You #77

Today’s haiku for you is brought to you by internet security. It is not in reference to anything specific though. Just a thought on the state of the universe today.

Cyber attacks are,
such a serious dick move.
Stop being a dick.

Three Years from Now

What will your life be like in three years

Daily Writing Prompt

Yup… the app and the browser are different prompts again. The tags are different too. The browser’s prompt looks like it will show up on the app a couple of days from now. Nice effin’ bug, jerks.

Today’s tag is dailyprompt-2112… 2112… as in Rush… so this, despite being a dumb question, is my favorite daily writing prompt ever.

So what will my life be like in three years? Hopefully it will be pretty similar to my life today, as my life is pretty good right now. Optimistically, maybe the kids will be living a little closer to us than they do now, but it’s more likely that they will be further away. That will be bad, except that it will probably mean that Jen and I will travel more often so that would be the silver lining.

I will be 55 years old. The chances of me still having red hair will be pretty slim. However, I have been saying that about each new year ever since I turned 40 and somehow the red hair is still there. There’s more white mixed in than there was before, but it’s still mostly red. I think that’s pretty neat. I like being a red head. I hated it when I was a kid, but I love it now. I will be sad when the red head days are over, but it is inevitable and I will definitely be okay with it.

Three years from now I am guessing the band formerly known as Lizardfish will still be looking for a new singer. I will hopefully still be in guitar love with my 1978 Les Paul, and maybe by then I will have had my 1979 ES-335 fixed up too. That would be nice. Maybe by then I will have finished The Great 2015 Re-Recording Project as well. Probably not though.

Have you guessed that I am not taking this question all that seriously? I don’t know where I will be in three years. I just know I will still be with Jen and that’s all I really care about.
