Kid’s Room Redesign

When Harry moved into his own apartment he took almost all of his bedroom furniture with him. Slowly but surely we’re putting it back together. We now have a day bed and a rug. Ignore the heavy things holding down the corners of said rug.

Busy Day

It’s going to be a busy Saturday around here. I’ve already done the grocery shopping, including prepping for Halloween and trick or treaters.

I needed to grab a pic for the photo a day challenge and I took the first thing I saw.

I also started a Flickr group for Hipsta-Kitties, though I am sure I am the only person on Earth who not only still uses the Hipstamatic app but also uses it to take constant pictures of cats.

We’ll see.

Moonshot

Another day without the daily writing prompt pulling into the daily writing prompt response post. Did I change something somewhere to break it? I don’t think so. Who knows.

Here is today’s question:

How much would you pay to go to the moon?

The simple answer to this is nothing. I wouldn’t go to the moon. I mean if NASA wanted me to go for a quick visit, I would, but I wouldn’t pay for the privilege. Sure, Apollo 11 marks the high point of human achievement, but the Moon is a pretty nasty place, what with the total lack of air and pressure and human survivability and all.

Maybe if there was something on the Moon that consistently demonstrated that human life could hang out there without dying in horrifying fashion I would reconsider. Something like an amusement park or something?

Dangerous Nerd Moment

I probably shouldn’t have done it but…

I went to ebay tonight and put a very small bid onto a very, very old film camera. Does it work? Maybe. I wouldn’t have bid if the top bid at the time wasn’t really, really low because the camera is older than my parents and who knows if it functions at all.

I want to dip my toes into medium format film, and folding cameras from the 1930’s seem like the least expensive starting point… and a $25.25 bid isn’t going to hurt the bottom line.

The auction ends tomorrow… we’ll see.

More Blue Skies

As I start my work day in the afternoon after having taken the morning off for my doctor’s appointment, let me share two pictures of the blue sky. The blue sky that probably will go away for the weekend when I would actually have time to enjoy it.
