Yesterday was the first time in ages that I caught a large chunk of a Red Sox game. I didn’t want to miss Peavy’s debut, and he was pretty awesome. Just imagine if he can keep it up at that level for a couple of months, and then if we can get Bucholtz back too!
We caught most of the game in the car as we were driving around, looking for something to do. Eventually we decided to just go home. When we pulled into the driveway the D-Bags D-Backs had the bases loaded with no outs in the 8th, with the Red Sox holding a 3-1 lead. It was tense. I heard the second Arizona run and the play at the plate, but that was it. In the time it took me to get into the house, get settled, and put the radio back on, the Sox had gotten out of the inning with the 3-2 lead in tact.
I feel like such a bad fan. I want to get into this team as they are surprising the hell out of every one. I’ve just been so pissed off after the damn Stanley Cup Final that I don’t want to get wrapped up in a team and get hurt again. Maybe now that we are post trade deadline I might be able to start caring again.
Go Red Sox!
