Christmas Eve

Hello and welcome to christmas eve! It was 55 degrees out yesterday and it’s 10 degrees out right now. That’s a 45 degree swing in about 15 hours. Hooray! Also, I have a bad stomach ache this morning. It’s all winning today, left and right. Hooray!

I have more cookies to bake today. I am finished with today’s exercise. What else. Don’t think I am going out to take christmas eve pics because, as mentioned, 10 degrees Fahrenheit. I am certainly not going to the ocean. To hell with that frosty noise.

Okay, time to start the day. HoHoHo

Also, Jen sent us this a few minutes ago. Apparently Santa Claus gets a fighter escort from NORAD in both the US and Canada. Nice of the red suited dude to slow down for them, right?

Did That Really Happen?

This just happened to me.

I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth. Our sink has a pretty slow drain, and I had just run the water. There was about a half inch deep puddle, slowly draining away. As I brusha-brusha-brusha-brushed my teeth I ended up with a mouthful of toothpaste. I leaned over to spit it out. As I have probably mentioned, I am freakishly tall. Therefore I leaned way over so that my spit would all end up in the sink instead of shotgun pellet blasted all over the place.

My toothpastey spit hit the water and splashed back upward.

Directly into my eye.

I don’t believe it, kids.

I literally just spit in my own eye.

It’s going to be a long, long day.

Uh Oh

When we bought our house in 2010 it was move in ready.  That was one of the things we liked about it and we took advantage of it.  It was move in ready, so move right in we did.  We started making plans for things to change.  Simple things, like repainting, as well as more complicated things, like our fantasy discussions of tearing down the wall between the kitchen and the dining room and renovating the whole shebang.

We made rough plans, but never did anything.  Seriously.  We haven’t changed anything.  All of the rooms have the same paint as when we moved in.  Nothing has changed inside, and the only thing that has changed in the yard is we had a dead tree removed.  That’s it.

Until now…

Oh hello there, Mr hole in the basement sub floor right on the edge of the tub.  Nice to meet you.  Don’t you look nice on this fine Monday evening.

Yeah, the bathroom is going to get a remodelling.  We’ve talked about it before (we don’t like the tub or the shower doors) but now we have to do it out of necessity.  Yippee!

And by Yippee! I mean, Urgh.
