Game Three – Tied in the Second

Game three of the Stanley Cup Final. It’s tied at one about four minutes into the second period.

At what point do I just give up hope and accept the fact that the team I’m rooting for, Edmonton, is not going to win.

Crudsville, population me.

I suppose the Oilers could figure it out tonight and actually score some goals and win a game for a change. It could happen. I mean, they are in the Stanley Cup Final fer crying out loud. It’s not like they suck, you know?

Come on, Oilers. Let’s make this happen.

Two Periods Down

Game two of the Stanley Cup Final. After two periods from Miami, FL, the Oilers and Panthers are tied at one goal apiece.

I knew the Oilers’ lead through one period wasn’t going to hold. Damn it.

I expect more from your third period, Edmonton. I expect a lot more.

Game Two

Game Two of the Stanley Cup Final between Edmonton and Florida is about to start down in Miami where ice is somehow a thing?

Florida took game one, two nights ago, by a score of 3-0. I read interviews with Edmonton players today who were all gung ho about how well they played in the loss and how if they play that well again good things will happen.

Do those good things include scoring one goal? Sheesh.

I want Edmonton to win the Stanley Cup because I hate the Florida Panthers with every ounce of hate I can muster. I am rooting for the Oilers despite their having beaten my Bruins in the Cup Final in both 1988 and 1990. I hate myself for rooting for them now, but only a little… because I hate Florida so very much.

Come on, Oilers. Get your shit together and win game two.

Game One – Second Intermission

I watched the first period. I didn’t watch the second, and I’ll likely sleep through the third.

After two periods the Lightning are up 2-1. Having the lead is good, but it’s too close for me. Having a 15 goal lead would be better.

Hang on, Tampa Bay.

Stanley Cup

There was a thread on ello asking people to mention something about themselves that no one would know. The first thing that popped into my head was that I once used Lord Stanley’s Cup as an arm rest.

I want ello to be worth visiting, I really do. It’s just sort of… Not. I’m trying to engage in the process, but I get so little back that I feel like an idiot.

Stanley Cup Finals Recap – A Choke for the Ages

With 76 seconds left in game six, the Bruins were leading 2-1. Bob Stanley walked in the tying run. Then with 59 seconds left Mookie Wilson hit a little dribbler that went through Bill Buckner’s legs and the Bruins lost the game, the series, and the Stanley Cup finals.

And I never want to speak of it again.

Stanley Cup Finals Game Six – Please Don’t Let it End This Way

Hey Bruins.  One more game.  That’s all we want.  Just one more game after tonight.  This playoff run has been a blast.  Please don’t let it end tonight.  The schedule allows for one more game after tonight, so why not just win tonight and make use of it?  That would be pretty cool, right?  Extend this magical little run you guys are on for a couple of days and play that game seven.  All you need to do to keep the fun alive is win tonight.  That’s not a big deal, is it?  You’ve already beaten these Chicago pukes twice in this series, what’s one (two) more win?  Nothing, right?  So why not win tonight?  Then you get to go back to Chicago (where I’m sure it’s really nice to visit, despite the bandwagon and all) and play game seven on Wednesday.  I don’t want to look ahead to the ramifications of a game seven, I just want there to be a game seven.  Don’t you guys want that too?  I bet you do.  You’re so close, why not keep it alive for a few more days?

So go out there on the Garden ice tonight with your die hard fans backing you up and win the game.  No biggie, just win the game.  We all know you can do it.  Chicago is a good team, but so are the Bruins.  Go ahead, win game six.  We all know you wanna.

Go Bruins!
