New Flower Coming In

Yesterday during lunch I did some pruning on the Japanese Peace Lily in the bedroom. There were a lot of dead and dying leaves and branches, including the only flower. I yanked out a bunch of them and scissor’d off a bunch more. It was pretty bad. I was wondering if maybe the plant’s days were numbered.

Then last night before bed I noticed this:

A new flower is coming in! The plant lives!

51 year old me thinks that 20 year old me would think him insufferably lame for getting stoked over a flower. Them’s the breaks, 20 year old me.

The Japanese Peace Lilly can’t seem to decide if it is dying or thriving. One leaf turns brown and another one sprouts. It’s crazy.

Japanese Peace Lilly

The Japanese Peace Lilly has what may be the best flower it’s ever bloomed. Unfortunately it is facing the wall so we can’t see it.

Bloom, You Son of a Bitch

It’s been so long since we’ve seen the Japanese Peace Lily bloom, and here’s this little sucker looking like it was going to and suddenly it’s turning brown!

Aw, come on you son of a bitch! Bloom, damn it!!
