It is not homemade. It is sugar free though. We found a few brands during our sugar free ice cream research trip to the supermarket last weekend and this is my first taste.
It’s not bad. It’s probably not as good as the real thing, but it is good enough.
That moment when you’re running a little late getting through your morning routine and you remember you don’t have enough gas in the car to get you to the office.
Ugh.
300/365
Fortunately the traffic was awful but normal levels of awful (unlike yesterday which was awful times two) and I got to my desk with a few minutes to spare.
I have a story from the road too. Want to hear it?
You know that old saying, there’s never a cop around when you need one?
I was stuck in a 1.5 mile long line of gridlocked traffic trying to exit route 93 South and merge onto route 128/95 South. Some jerk off in a pickup with Pennsylvania plates decided to drive up to the exit ramp in the breakdown lane. Prick. Schmuck. There’s never a state trooper around when you need one, I thought. At that very instant, an unmarked state trooper pulled into the breakdown lane behind him, put on his flashers, and pulled said prick/schmuck over.
Finally! I’ve been driving for 37 years and that is the first time I can ever remember seeing karma kick some jack ass in the teeth like that. It was glorious.
Jen and I went to lunch today with my father and my siblings and their families. It was very nice to have everyone together. I took a couple of pictures on film so I’ll probably find out if they came out or not in a few years. You know how film is.
Bellana and Harry are out with their dad right now. They will eventually be coming to our house for dinner. Harry goes back to Vermont tomorrow, but Bellana is going to stay with us for a couple of days. Each of them being here for a few days is the best gift ever. I’m very happy to see them, whenever I get to see them.
Here’s a few random camera phone pics from throughout the day so far.
I ran a couple of errands this morning. One of them was topping off the gas tank in the car. Obligatory gas station pics:
Do cats celebrate Father’s Day too? Is Robin watching through the window, waiting for her dad to show up? Probably not.
Our neighbors might not be having the best Father’s Day. I thought I saw one of the firemen holding a carbon monoxide detector. I’m guessing they didn’t find anything as the truck was only there for about 10 minutes. Here’s hoping all is well for our neighbors across the road. Fingers crossed.
When I came upstairs this morning to start packing up for the drive to the office, Robin the cat jumped up on the table by the dining room window and looked like she was posing for me. I took out my phone to snap a pic and she ran away.
Three minutes later she changed her mind and came back to do the whole super model cat* walk thing. I managed two pics. That’s all she let me take.
When it comes to shooting with a model, consent is everything.
It had only been two weeks since my last visit to the sugar free bakery in Salem, NH. In that space of time, however, they seemed to stop selling all of the things I usually buy from them. What a friggin’ bummer, eh? Maybe next time will be better.
