Today’s haiku for you was written in the early afternoon… so the answer to the question at the end is definitely no. In case you were wondering.
Bad night’s sleep last night.
I’m feeling like crap today.
Is it bed time yet?

On Patriots Day in Massachusetts, the Boston Red Sox play a morning game, which starts at 11:00am. It’s timed so that the fans will exit Fenway Park just about the same time the Boston Marathon reaches Kenmore Square. It’s a great little mini-tradition, and I always enjoy listening to the Sox game on the radio while I work.
Today’s haiku for you is the story of how WEEI and the Red Sox ruined it for me today.
Turn on the Sox game
and hear Sean McDonough’s voice.
Fucking hate that guy.
I was so happy to see the temperature start to go up a little that I more or less forgot about the constant rain we had through the entire Spring, Summer, and Fall last year. Crud.
The weather warms up,
And the rain starts a fallin’.
New England climate.
I just heard that OJ passed away.
OJ Simpson died,
At 76 years old.
Who’ll play Nordberg now?
I want to give credit where credit is due, but I can’t remember where to give it to. The Nordberg thing comes from a joke I heard back when the whole OJ thing first happened, back in 1994. I think it was Bill Maher but I’m not sure.
Lots of people in the office today. It’s a little unsettling in this post pandemic, haiku for you kinda world.
Lots of people here,
All wanting a piece of me.
Let me eat my lunch.
Another Red Sox home opener at Fenway Park. This one comes with a haiku for you.
112 years
Of baseball at Fenway Park.
It’s opening day.
My eclipse glasses are made of cardboard and look like the old cardboard 3D glasses. Knowing that will help this haiku for you make sense.
Just saw the eclipse.
The solar system’s grandeur,
Through 3D glasses.
More weather related fun, this time in haiku for you form…
Come on snow and ice.
Do your job and melt away.
Your time has passed, dudes.
Sick time, vacation time, personal time. It’s a time off avalanche around here.
Shorthanded at work.
Everyone out all at once.
Tough couple of days.
Today’s haiku for you is work related, but also unrelated to anything anyone I work with directly has done or needs to do. It’s just an observation that feels somewhat universal to we programming types. No specifics, no spoilers…
Tough to troubleshoot,
Without any tools to use.
Now what do we do?
