At last it’s here! I didn’t think it would ever be released!
There is an iPad app for Flickr! Rejoice!
I just pre-ordered an iPhone 6 Plus. I figure, I have big hands so it won’t be a problem.
Now I have some important work to do…
The initial stock is already sold out so I have been back ordered until mid-October. On Flickr, I have 2,173 pictures taken with my previous phone, the iPhone 4. My current phone, the iPhone 5, only has 1,972 pictures. That means I have about a month to take 202 pictures. That way there will be more pics from the 5 than the 4. Think I can pull it off? (no)
Happy New iPhone Order Day!
Did you know Flickr was bringing out yet another new layout? I didn’t, but I’m pleased.
I really liked the initial redesign. Then the second redesign rolled out and… I liked it, but not as much. I still preferred it to the “old” Flickr, but there were a few things that bothered me.
I’ve spent all of 3 minutes looking at this third new design and I like it 1000 times more than version #2. I think it’s close to redesign #1, but I’d still like to see the film strip style display for groups and albums (not sets anymore, albums). It’s still better than the last update which showed the film strip but not the image you were looking at within the film strip. I think it defaulted to the most recent pics.
Thanks Flickr!
Here are a few more examples of me having fun with presets on CameraBag for Mac.
This filter is called Vignette III.

This one is called Grain Strong. I didn’t see much difference at first, but it’s there.

I should note that these are just the presets. I haven’t messed with any of the settings at all, but it looks like you have control over all sorts of stuff.
I should also mention that Flickr has apparently switched us all to their new photo page format. My major beef with the beta (and the reason I didn’t adopt it when it first became available) was that it took away the embed options from the sharing menu. That function is back now so I am happy. However, it needs to remember you last setting the way it used to. I’m already tired of having to switch to the HTML option and picking a size. Oh well. Everything else still looks okay to me. The more image on the screen, the better.
I was in BJ’s the other night picking up boat loads of water for our cooler. They had patio furniture for sale. It made me think of summer. It made me think that I’ve been wanting to get some decent patio furniture for the whole time we’ve been living here. Mostly though, it just made me optimistic that maybe some day the Winter will end.

Of course… it’s supposed to snow a little tonight. That sort of destroys the optimism, ya know?
The company I work for uses Google Apps. Gmail, mostly, but also Drive, Sites, and Hangouts. Hangouts default to opening a sub window above your gmail window. That is a little annoying as you only get a notification in the task bar. If you have another tab on top, you don’t know some one is sending you a message. Someone at work suggested using a Chrome Add On that pulls Hangouts into it’s own window, which also pops up when you get a message. Win, thinks me.
Since then I have been all about extending Chrome. I put the Hangouts app on my home computer as well as work. I’ve also got a download helper, and a Gmail notifier. Cool. I have now set to finding anything else that might be even the slightest bit cool. Forexample, I am writing this post using an Add On called ScribeFire. It’s pretty cool. I am also hoping to go all crazy on greasemonkey scripts that will extend Flickr.
I’ll let you know how it all works out.
I can’t wistle loud, but I tried. I made a little noise, but it was enough for some of the deer to actually look at the camera. Look at ’em mugging it up.
So ummm… WordPress.com and Flickr. So Flickr changed their embed code. WordPress, it’s time for you to update so that we can use this new code. I mean. What the hell?
