As I mentioned this morning, I snapped a couple of crappy deer-in-the-yard pictures this morning. Here they are…

Deer Sightings
For the third straight morning I have seen at least one deer in the woods behind the house. I managed a pic or two today, but I’ll have to see how they look later. I hope this trend continues. I love seeing deer.
Deer!
I walked into the bedroom to get my MacBook to maybe noodle some tunes. I saw some motion through the window.
A Deer!
I called the kids in and leaned up to the window. I saw a second, then a young third, then I looked over to the far side of the house and saw four more! Seven deer in the yard! Not in the woods, they were trudging through the snow in the back yard. It was awesome!
Lazy Deer
We were getting ready to go to the mall so my wife could go gadget shopping. I happened to look out the window and saw a deer in the woods! It’s been so long since I’ve been able to snap a picture! This time was a first for me though. The deer I saw was at the top of a hill near the edge of the woods behind our house and he was laying down. Just sitting there, being all lazy. I called Jen and grabbed my camera. I opened the window in the bedroom to get a good shot and after staring for a few minutes we found another deer, then another! The third was in front of a tree and looking right at us. We eventually saw more. We weren’t sure if we saw five or six.
I do so very much love when the deer come to visit us.
Deer
This morning as we were walking out to the car I heard leaves rustling behind our neighbor’s house. I looked up and saw, just on the edge of the woods, a deer running away. I called out to the kids and my step daughter and I both saw a second deer, but my step son was too far away an he missed them.
We went through a stretch last year where we were seeing deer behind the house pretty often. Once every couple of weeks or so. They would sometimes even come out of the trees into the yard and hang out for a while. Once I even managed to get into the back yard with them, but only for a second before they got spooked.
This year… nothing. I’ve seen one deer since January, and that was at night a few houses down the street. This is the first time since then that I have seen them up close, even if it was just a couple of tails dashing away. I love living in a house that has wild deer living close by. I have thought about getting a salt lick and hiding it behind the house somewhere, but I doubt the neighbors would appreciate that. Random deer sightings will have to be enough for now.
