The Deflategate Saga

Want to know what was the worst part of the NFL upholding Tom Brady’s full suspension yesterday?  The Players Union is going to sue the league in Federal Court to have the suspension overturned.  That’s not the worst part.  The worst part is that it means sports talk radio in Boston is going to continue talking about this ridiculous thing for the foreseeable future.  It means that this idiotic story is never going to go away.

He cheated.  He conspired with staff members to use footballs that weren’t up to league specs and destroyed evidence.  Just take the damn suspension and be done with the whole stupid thing.

Now he’ll get a court injunction that will allow him to delay the suspension.  Wouldn’t it be fun if the courts rule in the league’s favor and his suspension began immediately following the ruling… and the ruling came in the day before the playoffs start?  That would be funny.

Cheating professional athletes need to follow the Andy Pettite model.  Get caught?  Fess up.  Be forgiven.  Brady is following the Bonds/Clemens model.  Get caught?  DENY EVERYTHING!  Ruin your reputation.

Nice going Tom.  Thanks for keeping this dick hole of a story alive.  It’s only been seven months after all.  Let’s keep it going for the rest of the year!

Still Bad

I was bad again last night.  Not as bad as I was on Tuesday, but not good.  We got take out.  I had been very good all day so I got what was probably the least awful thing on the menu.  Or at least the least awful thing Mr Robert the Picky Eater can stomach.  Unfortunately my step son got exactly the same thing and barely ate any of his… so I polished it off for him.

Woops.

It’s going to be easy to cheat this weekend too.  There’s Mothers Day, and someone I know is having a birfday.  If the weather cooperates though I hope to get out and do some yard work.  That will count for exercise.  It seems to be the only exercise I get.  Well, that and two hours standing up during band practice.  That counts, right?

On the upside, the Montreal Canadians and the New York Rangers are both one loss away from their off seasons.  I am quite the Tampa Bay Lightning and Washington Capitals fan right now.

Bad Dieter

I’ve sucked at Weight Watchers this week.  Over the weekend I was feeling really sick and I had a moment of pathetic weakness.  I had candy.  Twice.  Two big Cadbury bars.  I felt bad.  I felt shame.  Damn if they weren’t the most delicious pieces of chocolate I’ve ever consumed, but I really did feel bad.

Last night the bad dieter struck again.  We were out running errands and both of us were really hungry.  There was a 99 Restaurant right there so we went for dinner.  I could have been good.  In fact I almost was.  I got a grilled chicken breast instead of my usual steak.  Not good, but better than it could have been.  I then lost control and got buffalo tenders as an appetizer, and to make matters worse I ended up eating half of Jen’s dinner when she decided she was full.

To make matters even more worse, go on and ask me how much exercise I’ve done over the past week.  Go on, ask me.  The answer?  None.  The closest I’ve come to using the treadmill was yelling at the cat to get off of it.

This has been a bad week for me, weight watchers wise.  I need to step it up or my total weight loss of 28 pounds is going to be a lot smaller come Saturday’s check in.
