Big Day… Again

Two big deals happening today.

First, my step kids have been spending this week with their father, so they haven’t been with us in the new house yet. They came for a visit on moving day, but that was it. Today they are coming and staying for the rest of the weekend. I can’t wait. I miss them like crazy.

The other big deal is that today is my nieces birthday. She turns two today. There will be celebrating, of course. I can’t wait for that either.

After the birthday party we might do some furniture shopping. We’ve got a lot of space to fill in this here new house.

Can’t wait!

Things I Learned Tonight

Tonight I learned that it is in fact possible to clamp two hoses together too tightly. A quick pause on the washer and some quicker towel acquisitions by my beautiful wife averted a major crisis. A more careful inspection of the hose coupling proved that I am in fact a nit wit, but the miscue has been resolved and the first load of wash at the new house has graduated to the dryer.

Oh, and this is the first post made on my PC. All the others since the move were done from my phone. My desktop computer is once again up and running.

What can I screw up next?

Crazy

My wife and I are crazy. Certifiably insane.

Why?

Because it’s Friday, we are both on vacation, and we still got out of bed at the approximate start-of-a-work-day time.

Why?

So we could unpack the last two or three kitchen and bathroom boxes.

Nuts.
Crazy.
Bonkers.

Good news: my good friend Mike had surgery yesterday. It was an elective procedure, but still seriously major. He came out of it fine. He should be coming home today. Very good news.
