The love of my life colored her hair. Of course you can’t really tell from these crappy camera phone pictures, but I’m taking them anyway.
She looks gorgeous.
The Bruins bubble burst a little last night. Tim Thomas let in three goals before getting pulled. The offense roared back to tie the game in the third before Washington put it away against Tuuka Rask.
So they lost a game, and Tim Thomas is human again. Let’s see how they respond when they play St Louis tonight. I foresee a huge win.
Unrelated to that story, Patches the kitty woke me up at 4:11 this morning. She is obviously trying to weaken my defenses before going in for the kill. Obviously.
My niece is the cutest niece in the world. My baby nephew is tied with my other nephew for the title of cutest nephew in the world. The cuteness is so entertaining, I love them.
We were going to go to breakfast, but we heard that my niece and my baby nephew were at Nana and Papa’s.
Wooohoooo!!!
What a weird day this has been so far.
First, I overslept a little. Just a little. Not much, only a few minutes. When I did get my head out from under the blanket I noticed that the kids’ alarm clocks should have gone off, but they hadn’t. Turns out the dates on them had some how gone wrong and they thought today was the first day of daylight savings time. So when 6:35 rolled around, their clocks were reading 5:35. That got everything off to a screwy start.
Next, my shoe fell apart. Back story, I have huge feet. Don’t read anything into that, just except that my feet are size 14eee and move on with your life. The downside of having huge feet is that it can be very difficult to find shoes. When I do find shoes I have to wear them until they can’t be worn anymore. That day arrived today for one of my work shoes. I pulled it on, and it just came apart from the sole. Nice. So I had to dig in my closet for another pair of old, but still wearable shoes. I found a pair. Problem solved, but still weird, you know?
On the drive to work today I was twice stuck behind very slow moving dump trucks, and once stuck behind a flat bed truck that was slowly… very slowly… carrying a crane. Yeah, I was a few minutes late.
Oh and I can’t forget to mention that the toilet didn’t stop running after some one flushed it this morning. Yes we are getting into gross TMI territory, but it happened. It was easy to fix but, ya know… weird.
I didn’t bring a lunch today. I went to the cafe. The grill guy put cheese on my burger. I would rather die, I swear. He took it off, but… ewwww, cheese. Then they were out of ketchup. Damn, just a weird day.
The one good thing about this weird day is that the work portion of it ends in 2.25 hours. That’s when it stops being weird and starts being the weekend. I can’t wait!
I just read both kids’ report cards.
They both did fantastic! I am the proudest step dad in the world!
Here’s another cat update. In other words, you can probably skip this one. Okay? Okay.
I think the cat is out to get me. No, really. She is beginning to get into a disturbing routine.
Every night at about 4:00am she wakes me up. Sometimes she jumps on me. Sometimes she climbs onto my head. Today she actually batted me in the face with her paw. It’s 4:00 in the morning and our little nocturnal mammal wants some attention… and I am the one who needs to give it to her.
She is very calm, cool, and collected when she does it but I know deep down she’s thinking, PET ME, FAT BOY! PET ME!
So at about 4:00am each day for the past week or so I have been sleepily petting the kitty on her head for a few seconds. During normal waking hours that satisfies her, but not at 4:00am. At 4:00am if I stop petting she’ll head butt my hand until I start again. I think she keeps this up for about five minutes, maybe a little more, and then she curls up either next to me or next to Jen and takes a nap.
A little while later, generally about 10 minutes before the alarm clock goes off, she’ll wake me up again for another minute or two of attention before curling up again. She’s precise. She’s like the kitty version of a Swiss watch.
I think she might be out to get me. I think it might be part of a diabolical plan to make me lose my mind. I think it might be working. I think it might have already worked!
On an unrelated topic, I kept an eye out for deer this morning. No sightings. I want to see some damn deer in our back yard.
On another unrelated topic, Tim Thomas is 7-0 with a .977 save percentage (five goals against on 220 shots against) and a 0.72 goals against average (five goals against in 7 games). I think it’s safe to say that whatever was wrong last year is right again this year. Go Bruins!
