May 8

I woke up twice in the middle of the night last night to go to the bathroom.  Clearly my prostate is failing.  I’ve had pain and soreness in both legs for a while now.  I’m sure it’s arthritis.  Or polio.  I woke up with a bad stuffy nose this morning too.  Obviously it’s bubonic plague.

Either that or it’s just my birthday again.

I think I am going to skip my birthday this year.  25 is old enough, you know?

Bird Sanctuary

I finally got around to poking my head into the bird sanctuary. I believe I stood on the rail trail to be. I just walked out onto the refurbished railway bridge over the Spicket River and took some river pictures. I tried to get a couple of shots of different birds too but I got pretty much diddly with the exception of a couple of Canadian geese.

The first bird I didn’t recognize. It went by so fast I didn’t have a chance:

I had this one lined up but the auto focus failed me for the first time ever:

I also stopped to take a look at the Spicket off of Lowell street opposite the falls dam. Sucks to be the owner of this dock, which is sitting smack in the middle of the river:

You Turkey!

We can add another species to the list of birds we’ve seen in the back yard.

Turkeys!  Two of them.  Big suckers too.

Pictures will follow later, after I regain the ability to move that I lost when eating the fantastic steaks we bought at McKinnon’s in Salem and cooked on the grill.  Jen made mashed potatoes and corn on the cob too.  Talk about your cornucopia of goodness.

So there will be more Spicket River pictures later as well as a turkey or two.

I love our house!
