She is Beautiful and I Love Her So

I wasn’t going to post this. I was going to be greedy and keep it to myself. I can’t though. Isn’t my wife just the loveliest woman ever? I mean, I am so crazy about her that it’s just silly.

Thanks for the great mini-trip idea, sweetie. It was a blast.

Reunion? Could it Be?

The other day I was listening to a 90’s ear Boston based band and I wrote a goofy tweet wishing that some of those fantastic bands would come back.

Today I got a response to that tweet.

Could it be true? How freakin’ awesome would that be?

Quick Trip

Last night after work, without much thought or pre planning, we hopped into the car and drove to the Mohegan Sun casino in Connecticut and checked into a room at the hotel. We lay on the king sized bed watching a not-yet-on-DVD movie and ordered room service and stayed up way past our bed time.

This morning, after sleeping late, we got up and checked out of the hotel and left without ever gambling even a penny at the actual casino. We picked up the car at the valet and drove straight to… Wait for it… The Foxwoods casino. Ha! We ate breakfast and gambled away our very small stash of gambling budget at a blackjack table (with my beautiful wife coaching me on every move because I haven’t got a clue) and then left.

We took a long way home due to the promise of major traffic on 395N (thanks Google maps). We ended up taking back roads through large chunks of Connecticut and Rhode Island before finally grabbing route 495 just south of the Mass pike.

As soon as we got home we crashed for a two hour nap. Now we are making dinner plans.

This has been an A+ weekend and it’s not even dinner time on Saturday yet.

External iPhone Camera Lenses

So I may have mentioned that I am planning on grabbing an iPhone 5.  You also may have noticed, loyal reader(s?), that I tend to take a lot of pictures with my iPhone.  A quick look at Flickr tells me that I posted 700 pictures and one video with my iPhone 3G, and then I posted 1,982 pictures and 61 videos with my iPhone 4, although a few of those pictures actually came from my iPad 2, but only a small number.

That’s a ton of camera phone pictures.  An absolute colossal ton.

Given that, how many do you think I am going to take with the iPhone 5’s 8 megapixel sucker?  Maybe a ton times two?  Maybe more?

I was poking around on G+ during lunch today and saw a post by someone who apparently also over-uses his iPhone’s camera.  It was a review of a set of external lenses designed to be attached to cell phone cameras.  Here’s a link to the product’s website.

I am pretty sure that there are more such items available than just these.  I will try to remember to Google the topic after work tonight, if I can.  I have given a few seconds worth of thought to things like these before, but only a few seconds.  Should I look deeper?  The price is pretty low, and if they work well they could make my already over used iPhone camera a little more versatile.  I wonder how a little telephoto lens would improve the crappy camera phone pictures from the cheap(ish) seats at a Rush concert.

I’m thinking about it.  If you’ve used external lenses with your iPhone leave a comment and tell me what you think.

Thanks
