Patches is a killer, and we all know it. One of these days, BAM! Kobyashi Maru.

42 Years Ago Today
42 years ago today, Jimi Hendrix passed away. Just think of how much he could have accomplished in 42 years. Even if he took a decade off the way Clapton did. He changed so much about how people play the guitar in his four or so year career, just think of what would have happened if he’d lived.
Oh No!
To Hell with the NHL
Once again, another To Hell with the NHL post. These are going to be coming for a while.
Why does the NHL need to die? Because one of the teams complaining that they can’t stay above water due to the last collective bargaining agreement is the Minnesota Wild. The same team that signed Zach Parise and Ryan Suter to two of the biggest contracts ever.
The NHL needs to die because the board of governors member who called for the confidence vote backing the commissioner’s plan to lock out the players over a proposal that would limit the length of all contracts to five years or less, Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs, signed Tyler Seguin to a six year deal last week. Oh, and that vote was unanimous in favor of Bettman and his lock out.
These people are clearly too stupid to stay in business. The league made 3.3 billion dollars last year, and today they are in a lock out.
I am hoping that some day soon the Russian Kontinental Hockey League will set up an English language steam for their games. That league has never had a lock out. Maybe that league actually gives a shit about their fan base.
Why
Why? Damn it, WHY????
Why does the battery in the smoke detector in the cellar always, ALWAYS, have to start to die at 4:21am?
WHY!?!?!?!?!?
Portland, ME
We found ourselves in Portland, ME today. We were mattress shopping. I took a few pics on the walk from the parking space to the store.
This means we hit five of the six New England states this weekend.
Friday: MA and CT.
Saturday: CT and RI and MA.
Sunday: MA and NH and ME.
We only missed Vermont. If we had time tonight we would be heading there right now.
Someday I’d like to see all six state capital buildings in one day. Is that even possible?
Social Media House Cleaning
I just logged onto Twitter and went through my following list and unfollowed any NHL teams, players, writers, and news sites that I could find. I left a couple for sentimental reasons. I left Mike Zigomanis because he’s a Lowell hockey god. I left the Providence Bruins. I left all of the anti-lockout accounts too. I also left the fake Claude Julien and Jack Edwards, and I let Bob Goucher off the hook. I unfollowed about 30 accounts. After I finished with Twitter I did the same with Facebook.
To hell with the NHL.
Death to the NHL
Well, it’s after 11:59pm Eastern time on September 15 and the NHL collective bargaining agreement has expired with no new agreement in place to follow it.
The NHL has now locked out the players union.
The NHL is dead to me.
