Mary Surratt’s Boarding House

If the sign out front is to be believed, we are eating Chinese food at the site of Mary Surratt’s boarding house.

That was the place where John Wilkes Booth and his co-conspirators met to conspire against President Lincoln and his cabinet.

History comes alive!

Rough Night

We ate an early dinner at a place in our hotel building. It did not agree with my step son. He has been sick to his stomach ever since we left. We were going to head over to the National Mall for a look around, but we turned around after a block to go back to our room and let the man sleep it off.

Poor little future President.

He’s Gone! He’s Gone!

Oh glorious day, he’s gone!  He’s gone!  He’s finally gone!

The Boston Red Sox put out this press release earlier today.  Read it and join in on the celebration.

To paraphrase Geraldo Rivera (whah?)… Happy days, everybody!  Schmucko the Clown finally go sacked!

It goes without saying that the Red Sox should never have hired Bobby Valentine as their manager.  It also goes without saying that they should have corrected their mistake by firing the clown months ago.  That being said, it does not take away from our happiness that the manager who lead the Sox to their worst record since the mid 1960’s will not be coming back next year.

Oh glorious day!
