Photojojo 2X Zoom

It wasn’t the Bachelor or Disney Cannel, but tonight I took a few pics with the photojojo 2x zoom lens.  This is the lens that got me interested in the set.  I only bought the four of them together because there was a big discount for buying them all.  The inspiration tonight was sitting in a convenience store parking lot down the street from the kids karate class while waiting for the class to end.

Sunrise Over Canobie Lake

The one upside to taking the kids to their father’s house before school in the morning is that sometimes we get a brief glimpse at the sun rising over Canobie Lake.  This morning on the way there it was just barely above the trees and it looked spectacular, with the lake all covered in yesterday’s snow and all.  After dropping the kids off I stopped for a photo op.  It wasn’t as awesome as it had been five minutes before, but it was still an excellent view.

I tried getting a sunrise picture last week using my iPhone.  This time I was better prepared and took my Nikon.

I will probably wait for Spring to try this one again, although the timing of the sunrise with the pre-school drive will be all out of whack.  Maybe on a vacation day.  Who knows.  These would be better if the lake was actually water.

A Study in Nerdom

Today is going to be a text book study in nerdom.  Thursday is my (somewhat) regular telecommuting day now.  Also, my step son has a recorder concert at school at some ungodly hour like 9:30 or something.  My wife is taking a little time off to go see it.  I’m not so lucky in that regard.  After the concert, she is going to telecommute too.

Both of us will be working from home at the same time.  How nerdy cute is that?  She’ll be at her desk in the living room.  I’ll be on my laptop on the dining room table.  Two nerds in love, working away next to each other.  Isn’t that precious?

I hope she doesn’t get mad when I start yelling at my screen.

Macro Lens

The last two nights it was my wife watching The Bachelor.  Tonight it was the kids watching Disney Channel.  Once again I got all goofy with my camera phone.  I brought out the Photojojo macro lens that came in the mail on Monday (magically) and took some goofy goofiness.

The drink coaster sitting on my desk. The shadow, I believe, is the external lens itself. Didn’t think of that one, did you fat boy.

This is the second “2” in 2112 on the cover of the new super deluxe edition.

The Garageband icon on my Mac’s desktop. I’m about half a month away from using the crap out of that app during the RPM Challenge.

My left index finger. This is a little out of focus. I’m losing the knack, eh?

A second attempt at my eye. Again, I’ve lost the groove.

Maybe tomorrow I’ll do some before and after with the zoom or the fisheye or the wide angle. I can milk this purchase forever! MUAHAHA!

M&M’s and Hipstamatic

Jenny is watching the Bachelor again.  I just went shake to randomize crazy with Hipstamatic and a bowl full of M&M’s.  Here’s what we have!

So what have we learned? We’ve learned that randomize doesn’t randomize all that much.

Facebook Graph Search

I like Facebook’s Timeline.  Now I’m looking forward to this.

However…

Facebook users, prepare for the onslaught of hate!  Prepare for weeks upon weeks of news feeds flooded with bitching and moaning and “I want the old Facebook back!”

Do any of the people who were furious three or four revisions ago honestly still wish they had the old format back?  I doubt it.  Timeline is cool.  Graph Search could be cool too.  It might suck to the high heaven, but it might be cool.

Let’s face it, the minute Facebook stops evolving it becomes Myspace.  Speak up if you want that.  >insert sound of crickets chirping here<

Change is good, people.  Embrace the new.

Nothing Going On

There is nothing going on at all.  Work during the day, spend the evenings with my love, go to sleep, wake up and do it all again.  I’m coughing a little more than normal over the last couple of days, but this time I can feel something getting loosened up.  Hopefully I’m a few coughs away from having a clear throat and a clear head and not being sick at all.  I would guess I’m about 85% healthy.  Last time I said that I relapsed, so I might just be a moron.  Who knows.

Over the weekend we finished watching The Lord of the Rings with the kids.  They were really into it, mostly.  Sheelob the spider weirded them both out, but that’s sort of her job.  I have been listening to the audiobook of the Lord of the Rings during my commutes.  Frodo and Sam are in Mordor >insert creepy music here<.

So on that note I will leave you with the one (wedding) ring!

The photojojo macro lens is kinda cool, but I haven’t really gotten anything terribly clear with it yet. I’ll keep trying.

Kittie Selfie

This is my new theme pic. The next step beyond iPhone astrophotography. The self portrait with Patches blocking the way.

The real story is that my wife and I are in the living room and she is watching The Bachelor while I act goofy with my camera phone. HeHe.

I love you, Jenny!!!
