Floyd

The upside of a 90+ minute commute this morning was that I could listen to the deluxe edition of the new Pink Floyd album all the way through.

The upside of a 90+ minute commute this evening was that I could listen to Pink Floyd’s The Wall all the way through.

That’s it though. There are no other upsides.

Saturday Morning

It’s 6:30am on Saturday and I’m awake. I’m out of bed. I’m not at all happy about it, but I am. We are getting ready to go to our weight watchers meeting.

I think I did okay this week. The between meal snacking seems to have gone up a little, but the actual meal time portions were generally way down. Hopefully it all evened out. I did not get any exercise in though, and that is upsetting. I need to start incorporating more of that if I want to keep getting good results.

I’m not sure what to expect today. I could be down. I could be up. It probably won’t be much either way. I’m not worried about it though because I feel like I did a decent job this week. If the numbers aren’t there today they will work out eventually.

I’m still staying positive.

Family Feud

Sitting in my parents’ living room.

My mother was watching The Family Feud*.

I needed to get up to go to the kitchen for something, but I waited to see what the last of the top five answers on the board was.

Then I realized I was actually watching The Family Feud and decided it was time to claw my eyes out.

*I misspelled feud three times while writing this post.

Welcome to My (Political) Nightmare

Well that sucks. The Republicans now control both houses of Congress in Washington. So much for any progress being made at the Federal level over the next two years. My only hope now is that they cock things up further and get swept out of Capital Hill and the White House in 2016.

Oh yeah, and they took the Governor’s office in Massachusetts too. With Charlie Baker in the state house it’s only a matter of time before people start begging for Deval Patrick to come back. Urgh.

Now, to the Democrats in Massachusetts I have to ask this favor: Can we please, for the love of all things sacred on this Earth, Stop Nominating Martha Coakley? How many times does she have to lose a major election to an idiot before we realize that she is just plain un-electable? Enough is enough.

The only silver lining to last night’s results doesn’t have any effect on me personally. The race that pissed me off more than any other happened in a state in which I do not live. Scott Brown lost his bid for the New Hampshire Senate. Thank you, New Hampshire. Now if he and Martha Coakley can just do us all a favor and go away, that would be great. Thanks.

In closing, looking ahead to 2016, just let me say that in the 2012 Presidential Primary election I voted for Hillary Clinton. I am more than ready to do so again. Suck on that, universe.

One Hour to Go

The polls in Massachusetts will be open for another 51 minutes or so. If you haven’t voted yet, get off your ass and vote!

Of course, the best part of election day is that we get another year or so without any political adds. Oh the bliss! This year has been especially bad because Eastern Massachusetts has been blitzkrieg’d with New Hampshire Senate race adds featuring the former underwear model turned modern day carpet bagger Scott Brown. Oh how I hope he gets his electoral ass handed to him so that he can just go away again.
