The Blinding

Remember the entire past Spring and Summer when I was constantly bitching about how the sun was always buried behind rain clouds every single time I had a chance to go outside and take pictures?

Remember the last few days where I was constantly bitching about having to drive in to the office 70+ miles away from home for three straight days this week?

Is there a connection between these two remembrances?

All three morning commutes have been accompanied by the blinding sun shining so brightly, directly into my eyes that it literally burned the retinas out of my eye sockets and melted what little brain I have in my skull. Literally.

Like… is that irony, or is it mother nature getting some payback for all the bitching and moaning I’ve been doing? We may never know.

Two Additions to the New Workspace

Two new additions were made to the workspace in my step son’s room today.

First: Groovy wooden cup holder that clamps to the desk. I actually bought a pack of two but I can’t decide where to put the second one, so we’ve just got one of them for now…

The second thing… cat, lounging on the day bed. She didn’t stay for long, but she was definitely welcome.

Yankee Swap

I won a cup of hot chocolate with Baby Yoda at my work’s yankee swap today. Best. Yankee swap gift. Ever!

Of course it has 30 grams of sugar and if I drink it, it will trigger dumping syndrome and I’ll feel like I’m going to die for a few hours so… I’ll save it for Jen or the kids. Maybe one of them will enjoy a beverage with Grogu.

Getting the Bug Again

I had the curse of the mashed potatoes tonight. One out of every 10 or 20 servings of mashed potatoes goes wrong for me and my rebuilt stomach and after a couple of bites I have full on nausea like you’ve heard about. Tonight was that night. Two bites of delicious instant mashed potatoes had me in the bathroom praying to the porcelain god.

Too much information? Yeah, probably.

As usual, once I yakked it all up I felt fine. Weird, eh? Anyway, as I sat in the living room waiting a while before trying to eat something else I popped on some youtube. Five seconds into a video on a new color film was all it took to reignite the film photography bug. I mean… woah…

I have never thought of Boston as an xmas display kinda city the way New York is. Maybe The Google and I should look into any potential photography places. Maybe Jen and I can go into town next weekend? Assuming the weather is okay.

Until then… I just love shooting film, even though I am not very good at it.

Where should I go to shoot a roll of film next?
