Clear for Photos

The King Crimson photo policy states that when you see Tony Levin pick up his camera, you are clear to start using yours.

Tony picks up his camera after the last note of the encore is played. At that point, almost everyone else in the building, including Robert Fripp, starts snapping away.

Tickets

Remember when concert tickets were easy?  I’m going to a show tonight.  Ticketbastard mailed me a link to my ticket.  I opened it up and printed it.  It wouldn’t print (simple issue that five seconds worth of troubleshooting figured out, but I did all this other junk first).  Okay then.  I opened the email on my phone and printed it to the screen.  I had to sign in to ticketbastard first though.  I also have the ticketbastard app and I viewed the ticket there.  It asked me if I wanted to add it to AppleWallet.  Sure, why not.  Then I actually looked at my printer and saw it was just waiting for a response to an old pop up message.  Click ok, message clears, ticket prints.

So now I have the print out, I have the page open in a browser on my phone, I have the app, and I have AppleWallet.

Remember when tickets were just… tickets?

I bet you all a dollar that I don’t forget my ticket tonight.

Also, GET OFF MY LAWN, you damn kids!

Cold AKA Summer? My Ass

When I left the house this morning the outside temperature was 37 degrees Fahrenheit.  I had to wear a jacket for the first time.  I had to turn on the heat in the car for the first time.

Looking at my calendar, it is apparently still Summer.  The first day of Autumn is Monday.

37 Degrees… and Summer.

Bite me, mother nature.  Bite. Me.

Dress Code Moron

I’ve been working for the same company for 15 years.  The dress code is business casual.  Over the course of my 15 years I have never shown up for work in anything that was outside of the code.  Never.  Not once.

This morning I got up early, threw on some dirty clothes and a pair of sneakers and took out the trash and brought the barrels to the street.  I then said goodbye to my wife and told her I loved her and wished her a good day and a safe drive and then started my normal routine.  I don’t know if any of that early start stuff messed me up somehow, but…

The drive to work was long.  It took me about an hour and 45 minutes.  When I parked the car and got out I immediately felt like something was wrong.  I couldn’t put my finger on it.  I started walking toward the garage exit and the feeling kept growing stronger and stronger.

Then I realized what was off and I stopped dead in my tracks.

My feet.

I was wearing sneakers.

15 effin’ years without a dress code screw up and there I was, about to walk into the building wearing sneakers instead of shoes.

Robert, what the hell is wrong with you?

Stupid sneakers.  Stupid, stupid sneakers.

Sleep Deprived

Remember last week when I said the whole sleep thing was going well?  I seriously spoke too soon.  The last few nights’ sleep have been terrible.  Lots of random waking up, lots of trouble falling back to sleep, lots of CPAP mask troubles, lots of feeling exhausted all the time.  It’s like one of those cheesy memes… I said sleep therapy had been going well and sleep deprivation said, “hold my beer.”

I was getting into a nice groove of six hours of sleep or so with no more than one brief interruption, and very rarely having mask issues.  The night before last I was up four times, and took my mask off in my sleep twice.  Last night my mask was leaking twice and my one waking period lasted almost an hour.

Stupid sleep problems.
