Never Get a Haircut in New Hampshire
It happened again.
If you dig through the past entries on this blog I am pretty sure there is at least one mention of my bad luck with haircuts in New Hampshire. I live right on the state line so it’s easy to cross back and forth for any reason. In the past, almost every time I’ve crossed the state line to get a haircut it has turned out to be terrible.
Today I went to a Supercuts in Methuen, my usual haircut destination. They told me the wait would be an hour. Ah, I think I’ll go somewhere else. There is another Supercuts on the other side of the city. I could have gone there. Instead I went to the branch in Salem, NH.
There was no wait in Salem. Good. I sat right down. The nice woman who cut my hair was almost immediately inturrputed. Apparently they have been having computer system issues over the last couple of days and their IT folks were on the phone. She had to leave her station, and my head, a couple of times. I don’t think that caused a bad haircut. I think it’s just the combination of the state and my stupid head. I don’t blame the nice lady who cut my hair. I blame myself. I blame myself for getting a haircut in the state of New Hampshire.
Never again.
Never again.
Okay, I don’t care about this enough to really mean never again. If I have to I will without hesitations but…
Never again.
This is the Golden Age of Television
I just finished the first season of The Boys on Amazon Prime.
In summation, allow me to give a three word review:
HOLY SHIT SNACKS!
Gmail Spam Filter Fail
Has Gmail’s spam filter stopped working over the last 36 hours or so? All day yesterday and so far this morning I have been getting bombed with emails from accounts that I have had marked as spam for ages. Either every single one of these spammers created a new email to harrass us from on the same day, or the spam filter has gone to shit.
Sale
Should I sell my Fender Stratocaster? I bought it for $700 in 2014 but I think it was a cheap deal. It’s a 2000 model and I think it’s just a standard American Strat, or whatever they were calling the base USA model 19 years ago. I would hope to get a grand for it, and I would roll that into a new Les Paul Standard (a 50’s style goldtop).
Then again, maybe I should keep it because it’s really cool to play a clean(ish) tone on the neck pick up.
Mostly, I just wanted to post something using the WordPress.com stand alone MacOS app.
Success.
Wrong
Remember that post from this morning where I said I was sleeping better? I said that I’m not running out of gas in the afternoon anymore?
Wrong.
I need a nap.
I choose to blame today’s blip on it being both Friday the 13th and a full moon. Talk about your perfect storm of crazy, right? I wonder if I’ll get a chance to take a picture of the moon tonight. If ever there were a full moon to catch, it’s tonight.
Happy full moon Friday the 13th everyone. Do yourself a favor and go back to bed and pull the covers over your head and stay there until morning.
Friday Stuff
I missed Harry this morning. I was still in the shower when he left for school. That always bums me out when it happens.
In other news, I’ve been doing better with the whole sleep thing. I’m not getting up three times a night anymore. I’m down to just one time per night. My average of a little more than five hours of sleep each night is up to about six. Most days I am not running out of gas in the afternoon. I’m now running out of gas around 10:00 normally, which is a whole lot better than 2:00. I still feel sleepy a lot, but not nearly as bad as before. I’m also cutting way down on randomly taking the CPAP mask off in my sleep. I did it last night, but that was the first time in a couple of weeks or so. I don’t remember taking it off, but I do have a vague recollection of having a reason to take it off. Dreaming is weird. I’m still not used to doing that again.
Weight loss… lets not talk about that.
It’s September now so rush hour traffic is horrible. During the summer I could leave the house at 7:40 and get to work with oodles of time to spare. Now it’s 7:14 and if I don’t leave now I’m going to be late. Work is only 33 miles away. Rush hour traffic sucks.
Off to work! Clicking publish…
