April Music – Song #2

I didn’t do any recording this weekend. I was too busy. I did sneak a second mix in tonight. I better share it quick before my battery dies.

This was the first idea I came up with this month. It’s actually two pairs of ideas. The original idea was to have it bounce back and forth between clean and distorted every eight or 16 bars. When I was piecing together the arrangement I decided to change it to be more like a suite with all of the distorted stuff in the middle section. I prefer it this way.

The lyrics were inspired by an article my wife shared on facebook that had something to do with the anti vaccine “movement” and how it was causing beaten diseases to make a come back. There is no scientific evidence to support the anything the anti vax people say, yet they keep saying it. I started to wonder what someone who does that would be thinking. It came down to no amount of facts and reason will stop them from thinking they’re right.

While I was at it, I remixed the song from Friday night.

Feline Guilt

Jen and I feel like we screwed up our cat, Patches, by trying to bring a second cat into the house. These feelings are irrational, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t real. We both said that we have the urge to try to make it up to Ms Patches by spoiling the holy hell out of her.

Today we bought:
A big cat tree.
A kitty bed.
A shelf thing to attach to a windowsill so she can perch on it.
Three different kinds of cat toys.
Two new types of treats.

The cat tree is up. She hasn’t climbed on it yet, but she did put her paws onto the lowest level. I tried two of the toys. They definitely caught her interest, but she ended up running away from both of them.

Patches is just crazy.

Cellar Reclamation Project Phase Two

Welcome to Cellar Reclamation Project Phase Two: The Dumpster Strikes Back!

The plan for this weekend is to toss every single thing in the cellar and storage that hasn’t been touched since we moved in. It’s been about 3.5 years. It’s time.

The question is, if I start at track one of my iPod’s Rush Studio Albums playlist, how far will I get before I keel over? I’m through the first single and the first album. Track one of Fly By Night just started. I’m not dead yet.

I bet the internet is going to run a pool. Guess the album and track. Closest without going over wins.
