Star Trek Beyond — Mini Review

We went to see the new Star Trek movie tonight. I freakin’ loved it! I think it might have been better than Into Darkness, and I freakin’ loved that one too.

I might be biased though. I have said it before and I’ll say it again…

If Simon Pegg made a movie that consisted of nothing but Simon Pegg sitting on a chair watching paint dry, I would think it was Best Picture Oscar winning awesome. Seriously. I’m sure that at some point in his movie career he made a crap film, but I haven’t seen it… and I would probably love it anyway.

Star Trek Beyond: I approve.

Star Trek Into Darkness

We just saw the new Star Trek movie.  I will now give a short review.

 

CAN WE GO SEE IT AGAIN??  PLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASE??????

 

I am trying to get the family psyched up to go see it in IMAX 3D tomorrow.  Wish me luck!

In Honor of the New Star Trek

We haven’t gone to see the new Star Trek movie.  We will, probably next weekend as we have a rare two weekends in a row with the kids.  We talked about going to see it this weekend but we were way too busy.

To hold us over until then, I give you two Leonard Nimoy clips from youtube.com.  First, the new Audi commercial featuring both the new and the old Spock.  I generally do not like putting commercials into the posts here, but this is kinda funny.

 

Next, we have a clip of Nimoy singing the song he sings while driving in the car in that commercial. I haven’t been able to get through this whole thing yet because it’s too incredibly awful, but it’s funny.

Two Events in June

I learned of two events happening in June.

Richard Thompson is apparently playing in Lowell. I haven’t checked the date on that one, so I haven’t mentioned it to my beloved wife yet. I’d like to see him live.

Also, my beautiful beloved wife just blind sided me with a request to go to a Star Trek convention. I’ve never been to one, and used to say I would never cross that geek line. Perhaps it’s time?
