Bruins/Wings Game Two

We’re a little more than three hours away from the start of game two. The Bruins must win this game. They must win this game. No more of this 1-0 shutout loss crap. They must score early. They must score often. They must embed the Detroit players into the boards in much the same way that that damn tick embedded itself in me. They must punish the Wings for each inch of ice they try to take. They must punish the Wings for each inch of ice they try to keep us from taking.

I started reading Bobby Orr’s autobiography this morning. If that isn’t enough to inspire the Bruins in game two then nothing is.

Go Bruins!
Punish the Wings!
Make them fear you!
Go Bruins!

ALCS Game Two – Magic

A day after getting no hit into the 9th, the Red Sox were getting no hit into the 6th. How can we ever beat this Detroit team if we can’t even get a single base hit? Not to bitch about the disgustingly late start time again, but I was toast after the 5th inning. I closed my eyes for a second and next thing I knew it was the top of the 8th and the Red Sox were down 5-1. I turned off the radio and went to sleep.

Dumb ass.

David Ortiz hits a grand slam to tie the game in the 8th inning. Jarrod Saltalamacchia drives in Johnny Gomes with a single in the 9th for a walk off win.

Game three is tomorrow at 4:00 Eastern time so I will get to listen to the beginning and watch the end.

Go Red Sox!

How to Steal a Win in the Stanley Cup Finals

And that, my friends and loyal reader(s), is how you steal a win in the Stanley Cup Finals. Those Blackhawk pukes stole game one from us, and the mighty Bruins turned right around and stole game two from them.

It was beautiful. Actually, it was awful in the first period. Oh my goodness, did they kick our ass in the first. Fortunately, we had one Tuukka Rask in the goal. As the two or three thousand shots came pouring in from inside the hash marks faster than the cameras could actually follow, Mr. Rask stood upon his Finnish head and stopped all but one.

In the second, the Bruins closed the competitive gap. It was still nerve racking, but it was better. The third was pretty even too.

Overtime though… It was beautiful. Dan Paille. 2-1 win.

Glorious!

It’s all tied up at a game a piece now. Glorious.

Here’s the highlight video.

And here is a little nod to the Bruins of the past…
