Washer

Rob and Jen held each other nervously as Captain Kirk and Mr Spock stood by. The transporter beam appeared and an instant later Doctor McCoy was standing in it’s place. He took his medical tricorder and used it to analyze the washing machine for a few moments. He took a second to check some of the figures in the readout and then he turned to the Captain and said, solemnly, “It’s dead, Jim.”

Time to buy a new washing machine.

FEMA, OSHA, and the CDC are all here today. The folks are working hard trying to upgrade our living conditions from “Unlivable Pig Sty” to “Neat Enough that You Aren’t Ashamed to Invite People Over.”

Keep up the good work people. We’re getting there!

Friday

It’s Friday. One week ago today we were on vacation. This week? Work. Somehow Friday’s aren’t as much fun when you don’t have them off.

Agenda for this weekend: Clean the damn house! It is looking like a tornado touched down in here and it has been since about two weeks before we left. Jen and I are both over the I-can’t-stand-it-anymore threshold.

What else… Maybe Kimballs? hehe

Traffic

This is one of those Rob Hates His Commute posts.

Judging by the traffic and the minuscule almost-drizzle I think maybe it might be time to start building that ark. I mean, I had my windshield wiper on the longest delay setting it has but based on the level of panic and terror the almost-drizzle caused, I am guessing we’re in for 40 days and 40 mights of rain and flooding.

As Bill Cosby once said, “What’s a cubit?”

Congrats Chicago

So… last night the Chicago Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup on an overtime goal by Patrick Kane.

On behalf of all Boston Bruins fans everywhere, I would like to thank our original six brothers for doing what we could not: Defeating the Philadelphia Flyers.

If the Flyers had gone all the way to win the cup after the Bruins had them down three games to none it would have made the worst choke in professional sports history that much worse.

Thankfully the Blackhawks came through (where the Canadians didn’t… of course) and put the Flyers season to bed.

Congratulations on winning the 2010 Stanley Cup. You deserve it. Enjoy your parade, Chicago.

In other hockey news, the American Hockey League announced that the franchise owned by the New Jersey Devils will be relocating from Lowell, MA to Albany, NY beginning this fall.

Unless another team moves into the Tsongas in their place this spells the end of AHL hockey in Lowell. After years and years of empty stands I would say that it’s probably time to call it a loss. However, as a hockey nut living in greater Lowell… this royally sucks.

It doesn’t suck as bad as the Bruins blowing a three games to none lead in a seven game playoff series, but it’s not too far behind.

Pretty please, some one move into the Tsongas this year? Pretty please? Give us our Lock Monsters back?

Crud.
