Rain Sucks

We had planned to go bike riding again today but the rain spoiled things. Instead, we watched Return of the Jedi, and then my step son and I broke out the Star Wars toys and had a good time being goofy.

Later tonight we are going to Mike and Tammy’s to visit with them and their daughter. Should be a fun time as usual.

I know that evil is among us on Earth today. Pure, undiluted evil.

I have seen the face of this evil. Worse, I have heard the sound of this evil.

Saturday

So yesterday was a crappy day from the start almost all the way to the finish. The two and a half plus hours in the car going home from work was just the final kick in the teeth.

Things turned around at our 6:00 meeting, the one that I didn’t get to until about 6:15, when we signed the purchase and sales agreement.

Today is a housing stress free day… I hope. The sellers are supposed to be signing the p&s. We, however, are going to take the kids somewhere where they can ride their bikes.

Oncoming Weekend

The weekend is almost upon us. It could be an eventful one. I am leaving work early today because my company has a little summertime perk that lets you pick one Friday during the season to split a couple of hours early. Today is my day.

I get to pick up the kids. That makes me very happy. I love doing that.

Later we might be signing a purchase and sales agreement. Or not. depending on what the other side does during the day. I can’t wait to find out. It’s all so exciting. Frustrating too, but still exciting.

P&S Drama

On Saturday we asked the sellers for a couple of provisions.
On Monday they sent us their draft of the purchase and sales agreement.
On Wednesday we sent them our draft of the purchase and sales agreement, which was theirs plus a couple of edits we asked our lawyer to make.
Today they sent us back what they said was the final purchase and sales agreement, with the provisions and our edits factored in.

Nope.

What they really sent us was page 1 of our document with the provisions added in, and the rest of it was their original document. Either they (and by they I refer to the seller’s representatives, not the sellers themselves) are incompetent or they are trying to fuck us.

My optimistic side says they are incompetent. Unfortunately my optimistic side only represents 0.68% of my conscious mind. The rest of me thinks they are trying to pull one over on us… and our lawyer… and our agent… and our banker… so maybe my optimistic side is right?

I don’t know.

I just want to buy the damn house.

Housing

So the radon test came back clean. That is the final exclamation point on our home inspection. Nice. They sent us a purchase and sales on Monday. We went over it with our lawyer… well, Jen went over it with our lawyer. She’s pretty amazing, ya know. I am really the luckiest red head ever. So now we’re waiting on them to get back to us again. We also want to try and move the closing date up a little, but we have to hear back from them on that one too.

I want it done NOW NOW NOW!!!

Mosquito Spraying

If you’re like me and you live in Methuen, MA you may want to take note that there could be some noisy trucks on your street late tonight. The town is spraying for mosquitoes starting tonight at 8:00pm. They expect it to run until about 4:00am tomorrow morning. You might want to close any windows that face streets, but other than that I don’t think there’s much to worry about. Keep the kids out of play grounds and fields from sunset tonight until after sunrise tomorrow.
