Rush!

That’s right kiddies! Rush tonight!

For the 18th time I will witness three Canadian goof balls (also known as the Holy Trinity of Rock) blow their way through about three hours worth of the most insanely difficult, yet still totally rock-able music known to the human race (and beyond, if 2112 magically turns out to be prophetic).

Tonight at the Gahden. There Is a meet-up before the show, but we’re still not 100% sure if we can make it or not.

Until then though… PACKING!

I have been assigned the cellar. Boy did we (I) make a mess out of this over the last couple of years!

Pack, Fat Boy, Pack!

Okay, so no packing got done this weekend. Housework got done, Jen’s back got really sore so lots of sitting on the couch watching movies got done (Old School, Tropic Thunder, Club Dread, Cloverfield), but no packing got done.

That changes tonight damn it! Tonight: We Pack!

We’ve got a shit load of boxes that we’ll probably burn through in one room. So much to do, so much to do!

Rush tomorrow night. The holy trinity of prog rock comes to my town and Jen, Mike, and I will totally be there!

The commitment letter from the mortgage company is supposed to come in this week. I was really hoping it would be here by now, and we don’t have any reason to expect that we won’t be getting it… but it’s still not in our hands. I really, really want that commitment letter.

Less than three weeks until the scheduled closing date. So much to do, so much to do!

Pack, fat boy, Pack!

Off Your Butt, Fat Boy!

Today is the day. Last weekend was supposed to include the day, but it didn’t. Yesterday was supposed to be the day too but it wasn’t.

Today, however, is definitely the day.

Today is the day I start packing.

Lots of packing.

Of course I’m old and feeble so I am going to need lots of days like today and lots of breaks for listening to Rush and stuff, but damn it today is the day I start boxing up all of our stuff!

First though, I have to clean up the kitchen after the awesome Indian meal Jen made for us last night. It was delicious. So were the brownie/chocolate chip cookie hybrid things. Ooooh so good.

Once the kitchen is straightened up… PACKING!

Open House

I am about to do something wonderful that I have never done before.

I am about to go to an open house at my step kids’ school.

I very well may be the luckiest member of the human race. I honestly feel as though I am.

Now if only my beloved wife can find a parking spot.

Frustrated

I’m having one of those days. You know those days where nothing works and you get really frustrated?

I wanna go home. I wanna see my wife and my step kids. I wanna move into a new house and be able to sit in the back yard and not have drunk people fighting in the street at 2:30am on a Saturday night. I want things that get fixed to stay fixed and not cause something new to blow up on us within minutes of delivery. I want summer to not end. I want people who rear end other people to have the common decency to get out of the car and express some form of interest in the situation and maybe fork over some form of apology.

Mostly though, I want to be home with the wife and step kids, and by home I mean the new home that we should be closing on in slightly less than three weeks.

The kids sang a song to me this morning. The lyrics are brilliant.
Oh yeah,
It’s poop,
It’s falling from the sky

repeat, endlessly. I love them.

Yeah, Traffic Sucked

Yes, as I predicted this morning, the traffic sucked. The 495/93 junction was a mess, and crossing route 2 in Concord was worse.

You can’t see it here, but the guy behind me was reading the paper.

Here we see something that might have contributed to the route 2 disaster.

On top of this I got rear ended. I was stopped at a red light, and oddly so was the person who hit me. It was kinda surreal.
